jessa: i love doughy things. especially doughnuts. i like sweets though! lots of them. caramel candies, i'll remember that! for the benefit of the team... i don't know if that's true. i heard about her diets and they don't sound healthy.

jessa: me too! icees are good. i can always go for an icee. isn't it weird how much movie theaters have expanded with their treats? like ice cream and nachos and hotdogs and lots of other random things. who wants to eat nachos at a movie theaters?

kitty: that's where we differ - too many sweets + me do not mix. Uhm, we're still a renowned team in the state of Ohio, aren't we? she's strict, but sometimes that's what it takes.

kitty: It does seem weird - but i used to get nachos when I was younger. Well, my dad would and he'd get me one of those kids popcorn trays and we'd share the nachos, popcorn, and candy.

She hated not being a head Cheerio and I heard about it at every practice and it drove me crazy..” Her voice trailed looking over at her friend,·“I feel bad though, I can’t imagine how you might feel being here with those memories. I wish I could help but I know offering to listen seems kind of over played at this point and I don’t have a whole lot else to offer.” She looked at Kitty half with a smirk,·“How about you tell me one thing you want to do while you’re here and we’ll do it- within reason though, I know you and sometimes you have a wild imagination.”

“That’s probably one of the better options,” Kitty murmured, glancing over her shoulder to the kitchen just beyond the door. She could drink until she forgot about all of these feelings, it didn’t really feel like any way to memorialize Jenny, but it would feel better than this. Even if Jenny wasn’t her best friend, she was still a regular part of Kitty’s life that had been ripped away. And even though she had spent the past week trying to talk people out of this crazy theory that there was a risk for someone else to get hurt, she wasn’t sure how much longer she could talk herself out of it. “She was good at driving people crazy. I think it’s cool that you still came to the funeral, and then here, though. And that you’re not pretending to be torn to pieces about it. You’d think everyone in Lima was Jenny’s best friend with the way they’re reacting, but half of them couldn’t stand her either. But now that she’s gone they’re all of a sudden devastated and missing her. I bet half of the people that’ll show up to this thing never even spoke to her.” She rolled her eyes. “Sorry, I just... I know everyone thinks I’m a hypocrite, but at least I can admit to it. No one else can, and that’s what bothers me. I’m really not sure what I want to do, honestly - that drinking myself crazy idea didn’t seem like a bad one.”

Quinn wasn’t sure why she was at the lake, she had been laying in the single empty bed she’d found most of the morning. Every fiber of her being had told her not to go to the lake for this celebration, the idea of lying to her parents about where she was sadly was the last thing she was worried about. She finally had convinced herself to get out of the bed and wonder to the kitchen to find something to snack on knowing that once the sunset began that the drinking would too, which gave the girl maybe a couple hours at best since the night before it seemed that everyone had even tended to start before that by ‘pre-gaming’ around 3 in the afternoon. She opened a few cabinets finding cups and plated before she finally found the snacks, she grabbed the first box of cheez-it’s and wondered out onto the deck overlooking the lake. she sat down on the patio chair staring straight ahead watching the light beam off the water, while it hurt to look at in the beginning she didn’t mind. She heard the sliding screen door open, “If you want to share, I’m sorry but it even states on here on the box that you’ll have to find your own box.” She turned around covered her eyes trying to see who it was, “How has it been for you here so far?” She smiled for a moment before she continued to speak softly knowing some people might have hangovers, “You can sit down if you’d like, I promise not tot bite.”

Kitty wasn’t exactly in the ‘party’ mood, and she wasn’t sure how going to the lake house and getting wasted on Jenny’s behalf was going to do anything - but she went anyway. It was an excuse to leave the house, it was an excuse to drink, and maybe if she drank enough it would be a good time to get her mind off of things. She knew what people thought of Jenny and she was honestly sick of everyone using her passing to mope about and make people feel sorry for them, she hoped there wouldn’t be more of that this week, but honestly she wouldn’t be surprised at all. She spent a little while talking to some of the other Cheerios that showed up, but all they seemed to want to talk about was the funeral service and how much they’d miss Jenny even though half of them were talking shit behind her back just a week ago. Tragedies brought out the worst in people. At least she could admit that she was very hypocritical, but none of these people seemed to even notice. She wandered away from them, noticing the deck on the other side of the kitchen, and thinking that may be the perfect escape for a minute. She didn’t notice Quinn until she started speaking, and she proceeded to sit down in a chair next to the other girl. “Don’t worry, you can keep the snacks. It’s getting too close to time for Sue’s Diet for me to let myself binge on them now.” Kitty sat back in the chair, looking out over the lake. “I’m sitting in the same spot I did a year ago, only now one of my friends is dead instead of doing shots off some jock’s abs like the lust-crazed teen she deserves to still be.” She looked over to Quinn. “What about you?”

jessa: they're so good, how are you not in love with them??? i could eat thirteen. and i know that it's thirteen specifically because i may have challenged myself before to see how many i could eat. sue sounds scary, i'm really glad she's not my coach! i like staying on track, but i don't want to be scrutinized for everything i eat or do.

jessa: ocean's 8 it is! i heard it's really good, so it should be fun. are you a popcorn and candy person? i am!

kitty: They're a bit too doughy for my taste anyway? I don't know, I'm not really a sweets person. Or at least, my sweet tooth is very limited. Caramel candies, maybe. Sue can be a lot to handle, but it's all for the benefit of the team, you know?

kitty: I've heard good things, too. I'm excited to see it! Like I said, not much of a candy person, and I hate when kernels get stuck in my teeth. I could maybe splurge for an ICEE.

Did any of you talk to her the day of? Because I did, and I think it’s cool as fuck that I didn’t have a clue it’d be our last ever conversation. At least I filmed it. I can watch it over and over. You could all get murdered at any time, and now I have all my memories with her stored away for my viewing pleasure the rest of forever. Specifically the really hot sex we had.

Kitty, no one is jealous of her. Hell, I sure wasn’t. I’m not putting my life on hold either but what I am saying is that there’s already a threat for it to happen again and then what? What would you do if you it were you next, hm? It’s okay to be a little shocked by it at first, it’s shocking as hell and you know it. Please, I know that but I was drunk and really didn’t know anything was happening and yeah, that makes it worse but I can’t change that she’s gone but I can say that whoever this idiot is, clearly has a thing for killing people so. It’s just a little shocking, retract your freakin’ claws cause I don’t have time for this, no matter how much I love you.

You may not have been, but that doesn’t mean no one was. Or, I don’t know, maybe she pissed someone off. I love her, but you know how she could be - either way, I seriously don’t think anyone’s in any danger of it happening again. No one’s next, it was just a dumb note someone decided to leave to scare everyone. It’s just like when that one kid in middle school had a hit list in his desk, or whatever - it wasn’t actually a threat, he was just a screwed up kid. Yeah, it’s shocking, but people are going a bit overboard with this whole ‘hiding away’ or even ‘running away’ schtick. Or, whoever did this had a thing for her - everyone’s jumping straight to this being some random attack that could happen again or something, which is insane.

I’ve been thinking… and I want to put together a scrapbook of memories and photographs for Jenny’s family, so if anyone has any good pictures or happy stories to share, could you send them my way? If anyone is willing to help me with this project, that’d be cool, or if anyone has any better ideas on what to do, I’m open to it. Just feels like we should do something. 

This sounds cheesy as hell, but it’s actually kind of a cute idea. I’ve got some pictures from Cheerios that I could send to you, and I could talk to the other girls to see if they have anything they want to say or add. I don’t think it’s really going to do much, but her family might appreciate it.

For anyone who was close to Jenny, I’m beyond sorry for the loss you’re feeling. The two of us were not close whatsoever, but if you ever need someone to talk to please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or anyone. I know it can’t be easy to process this. While we may have been more along the lines of frenemies or whatever you want to call it-she didn’t deserve this, no one does. Just please know I’m here for anyone and everyone who needs it.

What an icon, putting your own personal feelings aside, despite a rivalry. If only some other people on the team could be like you - but that’s beside the point. What happened was awful, and Jenny was never a bitch to me so she’ll definitely be missed, but everyone seems to be trying to center this whole thing around themselves and how upset they are. Whoever did this probably just succumbed to their envy, and they’re going to get what’s coming to them - in the meantime, would Jenny have wanted everyone to sit around moping?

Well, this place just got ten times more down than it already is. The cops are everywhere and to be honest, I’d be good to just hang out in my room and avoid all of them. I mean, what happened is really sad and it really sucks because as a friend, she was great - crazy as hell - but then also you have to think like who the hell actually did this and are they coming around for more? Like, it’s creepy so. I’m gonna just be in my room and if anyone wants to join me, well, this is where I’m gonna be.

You’re just going to put your own life on hold because of some crazy idea that there’s, what, a murderer running around town? It was a holiday, everyone was drunk. It was probably just someone that was jealous of her that took things too far. It sucks, and it’s awful, but I doubt anyone is in danger of them “coming around for more”.
