Renata: I've finally decided to get one of these phones everyone seems so obsessed with.
Renata: Now it keeps telling me to put apps on it, whatever that means.
Maxwell: I think I might be in physical pain after reading this.
Maxwell: It's important that vampires keep up to date with the latest things. At least, I think so. The last thing I want to do is start sounding like I've lived a billion years while looking as young as I do.
Maxwell: I'd explain it to you, but I fear you're only going to frustrate me. I don't know if I have the patience to educate you on phones. But, hey, you're texting me. A very good start.
Yelena stepped into the hotel. Most of her luggage was being taken up by the hotel’s staff, so she just had her carry-on to contend with. She glanced around and spotted several people in line at the front desk. With a sigh, she muttered “This is just great.” He voice with dripping with sarcasm. Turning to the person nearest her, she said “I might be a vampire, but even I can get jet-lagged. So I’m not exactly in the best mood right now.”
he’d overheard her in the lobby, catching his attention immediately. he hadn’t thought he’d been too obvious about it until she started talking to him directly. “as a vampire myself? no judgment here,” he said, raising his hands in defense as he let out a quiet laugh. “even in the afterlife, jumping into different timezones isn’t as easy as you’d hope.” with something of a comforting smile, he shrugged. “where are you here from? somewhere exciting?”

hi everyone!! i’m syds, and i’m bringin y’all my boy maxwell. here’s a bit about him:
he’s a vampire who’s lived for over two hundred years. he was a willing participant in his transition, the idea of living forever a very appealing concept. the death of his father when he was much younger had brought on a fear of death on his own end, and so he wanted to have the opportunity to never face that reality.
he’s never necessarily felt guilt for what he’s had to do as a vampire. he does the bare minimum for the sake of survival. while he’s accidentally overly indulged once or twice, he sees them as mistakes that he doesn’t want to make a repeat out of.
his favorite thing about being a vampire is getting to see the world. he did a LOT of traveling before being brought to new orleans. some would probably call him adventurous, though he doesn’t think it’s as impressive when there isn’t an over looming fear of death above his head. it makes him much more brave and willing to take risks.
has done his best to avoid love in all of his years. he finds it useless, believing that the only two outcomes would be death or hatred. he has caught some feelings over the years, fallen into plenty of relationships, but abandoned him for one of those two reasons being what he feels is the only obvious ends in his head.
he’s not happy about the ‘solution’ whatsoever. marriage was never in his plans, but now he can’t travel, and he has to marry someone he doesn’t really know. it’s made him extremely bitter. while he can be pretty positive and outgoing, he gets pretty rude when it comes to his opinions on the arranged marriages.
while he does keep his distance from people, he DOES have friends and people he considers a second family, that he loves and is often extremely protective of. once he cares about someone emotionally, he’s trapped forever, there’s really no turning back for him.
he loves crafting, reading, dancing, playing piano, hard candies, baths, cartoons, children, dogs, the color yellow, airplanes, and board games. he also loves classical music and almost anything made in the 80′s.
