I know we bitch a lot about tumblr’s shitty algorithm (as we should) but can we talk about discord?

I’ve only been on discord for about a month or so now and the first thing I noticed was how functional the search function was. You can search the entire server by channel, date, the person who said it, persons mentioned, the file type (video, photo, link, etc), the list goes on. And it automatically jumps to that part of the chat so you don’t have to spend hours scrolling up.

It completely baffled me, and then I realized— that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. You’re supposed to be able to navigate content-creating sites. You’re supposed to be able to find what you’re looking for and find it where you expect it to be.

Anyways, discord is amazing and remember to turn on post notifs for your favourite content creators if their stuff isn’t showing up in the tags. Boost their stuff, leave them comments on sites like ao3, send them feedback on their stuff.

This is so important in supporting content creators, and in a time where we’re all consuming and enjoying content more than ever, please consider supporting creators in getting their work out there! 💖
