I learned a lot doing this, including that I will need to buy lining for the actual dress. The cross pieces are a bit off and the details on them are messy but I just wanted to sew something similar to finished product. I'm still confused about the shoulders, but I think it's because there's no lining. I've been sewing since 1, so I need a break. #sewingproject #sewing #mockup #GOT (at Austin, Texas)

I found that my other project was bumming me out. I'm getting overwhelmed with the scale of it and feel lost and helpless. I think I picked something joyless to focus on, as it won't be worn on the reg. It will be more like an art piece. Anyway, I thought I'd whip up these shorts. I didn't preshrink my fabric but it was already cut and is cheap garbage cotton, so who cares! These took me around 2 hours (I still have to install the zipper and hem). I did French seams. My first one IS SUPER garbage, but I got better after that and didn't really like the patterns directions. I liked techniques I found online better. Next time I'm going to Serge them. I really found joy in this! I hope I find it back in my other project ... And if not, well I'll find something else that I DO want to work on. 😊💁 (at Austin, Texas)
