These are the illustrations I made for Shinano Mainichi Shinbun, for their newspaper advertising project “A Family’s story 2018.”
The concept of this advertising was this - You can read/see through the feelings of each member in the family. Their words are printed on the back side of the paper so that you can see them through by holding the sheets up to the light. Here’s how the actual ads look like.
I did an illustration for The New Yorker depicting Yo-Yo Ma performing at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Thanks to the AD Chris Curry.

I have been illustrating covers for STORY BOX for 3 years, and just completed my mission. Thank you for the creative freedom that the editor in chief had given me, and I am very grateful for the opportunity.
It’s hard to choose but these are my favorite 5 pieces from the project. You can view complete 43 covers here.
Unpublished piece.
Here are illustrations I made for The White Fox (Japanese edition) by Jackie Morris.
