Was it not so unlikely? Maybe, with her history. But Gabriel had to believe that she held hope for such circumstances. Is it... not what all of these single ladies were after? “ Not with such dashed hopes like that. You never know what a turn out could be after a ball like this. ” He paused his words, looking around with her at the various other dancers on the floor. He was an older bachelor compared to some of the lords and boys that had recently become of age to be out in society. That didn't mean that he would have as difficult time as she to finding what he was looking for. “ In fact, I believe that it would benefit your station a little more, perhaps if you continued to prove yourself worth the attention. Being here alone has helped that, but, ” and with that he leaned in, dropping his voice as if to appear secretive. “ Some of these young fools, and their mothers, will only seek you out once they see your footwork. He straightened back up, extending a hand palm up. “ I'll be the first to help you out. I believe a waltz is next. Dance with me? ” His tone was still playful, but his eyes had darkened a little bit, seeing if she would chose the wisest path.

Daenerys chuckled softly. "Not dashed hopes, just realistic." Really she didn't desire the ways of marriage and courting, she had done that already and had it cruelly ripped away. Even behind her mask she couldn't help letting an expression of surprise escape her, he was bold and it seemed as if he didn't care for the gossip that would unfold after tonight, even impolitely behind their masks. For a moment Dany looked over him, his posture and his extended hand, contemplating what it would mean taking his hand in this moment. Would it elevate her desirability? Would it lead to string of endless gossip? Or would she just for a moment enjoy it and forget about everyone for a song. It had been years since she had been to a ball at all. "I'll dance because i want to, not for the help." Dany shot him a sly smile at the half rejection. "I'm not sure how I want to be seen just yet but let's dance." She placed her hand delicately over his palm and let him lead her to the dance floor as the previous song faded, ready for the next waltz.
