Unpopular opinion among the Aaron/Robert fans I know, (I am one of them btw) but I really hope they bring Kev back. Not for Robert though. But just because tbh he’s had a shit time when you look at it from his point of view. It would have to be another version of Kev coming back to have any longevity on the show though I think. I want him to be away for a while, walk back into the village, a little bit calmer, a little bit more adapted, having thought about the Aaron and Robert of it all and what Aaron said. Realising he’s better off out of that and away from Robert. Now, with only one thing on his mind, trying to be a father to Lewis.

I want Aaron and Robert to clock him, Aaron square up and Kev just have his eyes fixed on the cafe. With him being like, “calm it kid, I’m not back for you, you two just do what ever it is you’re doing, I’m back for my son” Followed by Kev trying to be a better person and ultimately failing allot but trying with Lewis’s help. Him generally getting up to no good, then just for them both to be a weird family with (maybe Ross and Vinnie if him and Lewis end up together)

Who knows, eventually maybe years from now Kev being the one Aaron/Robert will go to for help whenever there’s something dodgy going down. Anyway that would be my end goal 😂

this April plot has made it clear to me that Emmerdale village need to create a Stars Hollow type town meeting where everyone gets together to talk about the village issues.

that way Marlon could just tell everyone in the village about what’s going on with April and Celia ect and the village can vote on what to do about the local slave driver/drug dealer/turkey farmer/murderer/child prostitution/people traffickers. (Like wow, Celia is single handedly holding up the standard for all evil women everywhere. keep breaking through that glass ceiling babe).

the village could vote to lock Celia and Ray up in John’s bunker. or his cottage. or Aaron’s flat since he ain’t using it to bang brothers anymore. ED has so many potential prisons and they’re not using ANY of them!

😂 yes, or at least let the Dingles have a whole family meeting now and again, I feel like they used to be allot more of a unit, with more consequences back in the day when Zak and lisa were around. This Celia/ Ray shit would not be left only to Marlon and Ronda right now, they would be being dealt with, tied up in a barn as we speak.

I’m just catching up on the last week and have to have a rant to someone 😂 so with the modern day slavery story line, are we supposed to think that it’s only Celia and Ray keeping these people here? 

(We haven’t seen anyone else, guards etc or people that work for Celia on the farm) so I’m assuming that’s the case. 

If so, what on earth? I know these people are venerable and probably weak from the conditions they are being forced to live in, but you’re telling me that these people can’t, as a group over power Ray and then Celia to escape? Micky and the other man (sorry I can’t remember his name) could have overpowered Ray there and then surely? If it was me, after seeing Anya die and making my mind to leave, I would literally find anything I could use as a weapon to beat him over the head with and leg it. A table leg? Anything? Ray is not Tyson Fury, he’s not a big man and Celia is a very slender woman. I never understand this in any situation like this, they have strength in numbers, just attack!  🫣

its truly a shame that chris coghill got the role of kev. not saying hes doing a bad job, the opposite actually, but he really deserved a part in which he was going to be loved and appreciated for his work. i know many felt similar about oliver/john, but chris is a genuine top tier actor and i wish he was able to stick around in a nicer way.

My ridiculously long thoughts on Ray..

I really hope they don’t keep the Celia/Ray storyline going for too long, because I just can’t bare it. Celia is pure evil. However, I disagree (at this stage with people saying that Ray is too, because I think there’s so much more to him than just evil)

He’s an arsehole yes, but for now I’m still hoping Ray comes to his senses somehow and helps someone/turns on Celia. I don’t know what it might be that would finally cause that after all these years however and I don’t think he can be fully redeemed either. After the last two episodes, that have been awful, I don’t see that happening. But I do see someone that has been through allot, completely groomed, abused and brainwashed from a very young age and that still makes me feel sorry for him a little bit.

I think he knows what he’s doing isn’t right and he doesn’t enjoy it, he’s shown that now and again when his mask slips, like at laurels for example. I don’t think that was all an act. He seems to crave something other than this life, something normal. If Celia were to die tomorrow, I’m not certain that Ray would stick around and take over. I think he does what he does because;

Let’s face it, he’s been basically imprisoned himself, out of fear from a child, He seems terrified of Celia and what she can do, he’s submissive like a scared little boy, not someone of his age. He’s said over and over again that he owes her everything, that she saved him. He was 8 when he took him, so really the only family he’s ever known (except for memories of his grandad). He feels indebted to her, and probably does have very messed up ideas about what love and family looks like. He swings from defending her to being angry. I don’t think he knows if he hates her/loves her/ etc. if she’s mum, boss.

He seems to crave her approval and “love”. Like he said, he’s good at his job. And he’s probably had to be, to survive and also to get any form of care from her I suspect. He’s probably been reminded everyday since age 8 that he belongs to her and of the consequences of failure. He’s as trapped as the rest of them, if he doesn’t do what she asked he knows full well he would end up like the poor people he’s tormenting or worse. He’s been living this for so long he’s probably lost some humanity and been desensitised to it all. I’m still hoping just someone showing actual care or friendship to him and breaking a barrier, causing him guilt, might make him break away from Celia. Maybe laurel, April, bear. I think there’s hope he might turn. It’s also interesting that he mentioned that celia didn’t like to apologise, that he would pay for it after. (Something like that) like she would take it out on him if she showed any form of vulnerability. He also took it out on bear the next day when he opened up and showed his vulnerability. He’s been conditioned not to do that, not to show emotion…

I love Aaron I do but he is literally asking Robert to do everything he wouldn’t do for Robert when it came to John & John wasnt even dying! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Just a random thought, Kev does in fact seem very child like, like Robert said. I noticed that when he was first on screen. Then I thought, I wonder if being in prison from a young age does that to someone. I mean he would have had to grow up fast, with the violence, looking after himself point of view inside. But from a maturity point of view he still seems to be stuck in his early 20’s. I guess because he hasn’t had any real life experience on the outside or with relationships. He literally doesn’t know the usual way for a 40/50 year old to behave in ‘real life’ other than what he’s seen in prison/ read or experienced before prison. That might explain a little about how he tries to love Robert (it’s not quite what it should be, like Chris said) it’s interesting. I wish his character/storyline was different and they could explore that more. Him trying to adapt to life and adult relationships.

(I also feel aside from literally everything else going on with him, he seems to have some form of adhd or something. Again he would have been much more of a character to explore away from this storyline!)
