for a moment, coop let himself pretend that this was all real and the two people he kept a fierce watch on weren't dead. once the second passed, he felt the all too familiar sadness take over every inch of his body. that was when he felt nessa's hand squeeze his own. he looked down, a sad, yet genuine smile on his face. "i don't know what you are talking about, i'm a fantastic dancer. would you care for a spin?" he didn't want to interrupt their parents, scared if he did, they would go away, but he certainly could dance near them with his little sister.
"how exactly are you defining fantastic, huh?" ness asked with the usual skepticism of any pestering sibling. this was, of course, not to say that she was a better dancer or anything. that particular skill had never really entered the small and decidedly niche realm of interests which typically occupied the bulk of nessa's brain space and time. her eyes never left their parents, though, because what if they just disappeared again in a blink? "do I still stand on your shoes for this or what?"
