ugh. now that every surrounding qsmp's first server is being talked about again, it's leaving more of a bad taste in my mouth than i thought it would

like obviously i remembered it was bad, but now that it's being resurfaced, i feel like it's SO bad that i can't even look back at the fun times with any fondness. it's all turned so so sour for me, and none of the characters or plotlines i used to love make me feel joy anymore.

#and i dont even feel that way about dsmp #which was arguably more of a dumpster fire #is this too dramatic?#i feel like i'm overreacting at this point #but idk what else to feel

With QSMP 2 just around the corner, there's a lot of confusion and misinformation going around in regards to the infamous "QSMP admins scandal" of 2024, and there hasn't been a convenient and accessible way to familiarize yourself with the situation... until today.

How Quackity Studios Got Away With Workplace Abuse provides a timeline of the events that transpired between March 3, 2024 and May 24, 2024, a detailed description of the issues revealed by the ex-admins, and addresses some discourse concerns that I’d seen floating around.

You can read it as a Google document, or watch it as a YouTube video. (Though please note that the video version will not contain any information or changes added to the document post initial release and might have different wording to accommodate for the different format.)

I really want to believe that Quackity made everything right with the admins..... but considering we never got an official statement or anything that everything is ok dispite it being 2 years since then, I'm very hesitant to just jump in to qsmp 2, even though I'd be super hyped and excited otherwise

Quackity seems like a pretty down to earth guy but the fact that he barely communicated with the effected parties is concerning, I hope it's just a case that it's his first huge smp project and he was just in over his head and didn't know how to handle it all properly

Even then, NOT a fan of a qsmp 2 announcement before the admin problems are resolved and properly apologized for

I'll be so upset if after everything they have the same problems again......

quackity is actually on a generational run there hasn't been this many public fuck-ups mcyt-money-wise since dream was mainstream and selling 70 dollar dropshipped plushies

#like actually how am i supposed to get invested in this fuckass server when shit like this happens all the time #and i know that he suppsedly isn't involved in any of the admin work anymore #but when a company/server is soooooo tied up in your branding and reputation you would think you would look into things a bit more #about how things are being run #given all that idk how anyone can defend him in good conscience #nothing has been meaningfully changed in how his studio is running and there is no indication that any of its issues will be addressed #god this makes me so pissed #it makes it hard to believe that the goal of any of this is breaking language barriers to bring us closer #there is no togetherness in this
