my gong-gong died on tuesday. I wrote the obituary and uploaded photos for the slideshow yesterday — the eulogy comes next. I have the deliverables for this process down — when you’re at 4/4 grandparents, the whole thing goes smoothly. mourning down to an art. I loved my grandpa — an original weirdo who certainly contributed to some of my own worldviews and characteristics.

life is strange and wonderful these days. the loss of Ben marks an end of an era — he provided so much Chinese representation for the family. I fear fragmentation but also hope for a new fresh order that serves the whole community. it smells like transition and the days are heavy with nostalgia. healing is happening — healthy little hells that haunt and taunt until your thoughts collect and set.

I need a nap.
