Today the library commemorates Martin Luther King’s 50th anniversary of his assassination, Apr 4th. I only have two words to describe this experience: holy sh*t! I’ve had to fight a lot of thoughts in my head...mainly: “when the hell is it over?” “Will I make it out of here alive?” “Who in the world came up with this ‘hot yoga’?” “Is 96-106 degree heat really necessary?!” Through breathing exercises and following thru with the moves, these thoughts eventually subsided and I was able to focus on the task at hand. Happy to say I’ve finished! Got out alive! And burned nearly 400 cals in the process 😁😁😁. Will I do this again? Hell yes!!! (Well I do have four passes to use up I. 30 days thanks to Groupon - but despite that, I will do it again and again). Thank you @malihakhan1 for inviting us to this wonderful cause worthy event. Although it got challenging several times (most times, in my case) I was inspired to push on knowing that we were working out for a good cause. Learning about what Astor’s Services for Children offer to underprivileged children reminds me of how much is taken for granted. (at SoulCycle)
