What is a Gorget?

A gorget is a solid piece of armor worn to protect the throat, and it did not appear until the later 14th century. 

This piece of armor gets its name from the French word for “throat”, “gorge”.

Hanging sword, reach under and grip, and inside cover/sweep, reach over and grip. These are two incredibly common entries, and they’re extensively used in the Filipino martial arts. Also two excellent techniques for the bastoncello within the Fiorean tradition, or the dagger.
