“ Who is to judge whether or not one is weak and insignificant? You are smaller than I. Does this not mean you are the what you so claim as well? ”
The slight flare in his optics are the only sign he is irritated, voice steady but stern, like that of a teacher. He also quickly pushes away the thought that he could easily make her sail with his own pede, quite further than the turtle..
She knew what he meant but didn’t care.
Stubbornly she turned the ruined side of her face towards his metal-form, allowing blindness to erase him from view, “I am to judge the weak because it is in my blood to do so, I am power and power serves me,” Téttares said with finite assurance. “I do not need you to protect me, go away, do whatever goody-garbage you desire.”
Her heel cut the grass and into hard crumbling dirt, scraping a line effortlessly, “… and someday I will be big.” It seemed, now, more like a threat.
She seemed to wear that blind patch like he did his own battle mask, to hide not just disfigured features but true feelings as well. Letting out a soft vent, the Knight found himself in a seating position next to her. Still quite larger than her, but it would perhaps ease any physical strain she endured while having to look up at him.
" Power can be your strength, your anchor. But it can also be your downfall. It was something I struggled with during my days as a Paladin. I paid for my arrogance, Tettares. I do not wish it to happen to you. "
There was an age old story behind his obviously damaged audio, layers of armor as well as time hiding the truth. Perhaps he'd tell it to her, one day. Or reveal the true origins of Abbadon, Cybertron's oldest boogeyman. Áine, the Light Star, always fought to combat his darkness with her dancing lights.
So much, he had seen. More-so that he knew.

He’s going to scold her, just you wait.
“ Tettares.. “
She sits, speaking loudly, “It was weak and insignificant but I found kindness in my heart and gave it purpose, see I do listen? As it sailed not-so-majestically through the air,” She guided with her black gloved hand. “for those brief seconds it was a ball and a ball is better than a turtle.”
She snorted at her own humor. The turtle had put her in an odd mood.

A baiting grin spreads across her face. Oh? The good Knight frowns.
“Heh.”

The Priestess and the Knight
Ignoring the slight twinge in his marred shoulder, the Knight knelt down to her level. Ocher optics carefully examined her scuffed arm and chassis, much larger servos take her own to test the joints and ligaments. His own servos were heavily marred with scrapes and lines, the hands of a warrior. But his touch was gentle, optics flicking from her arm to her face to test if she was feeling any pain.
One of his servos could probably wrap around her waist if he wished. Once finding his inspection satisfactory, he set to work on the dents that were deeper than most. Otherwise the indented armor could compress important wiring and lining, leading to internal issues. His digits make quick work of them, popping the dents out the best he could by placing warm pressure on their edges.
"The venom would likely have been used to incapacitate, rather than damage. It may remain tingling for some time, as your systems remove it the best they can. You are a femme of importance it appears."
Deeper scrapes would probably need a thorough cleaning, but for now a salve was applied to promote healing and reduce swelling. It might have stung to her, for a moment. Respectfully removing his digits from her frame, he rested an arm on his knelt knee joint.

The Priestess and the Knight
The mercenaries had done a thorough job of destroying what they could, similar to the raiders of primitive Cybertron. It was mostly in an effort to remove any hiding places the priestess would have chosen. Though, in their hurry to rid the temple of such places, they instead provided cover in the form of rubble for her to hide long enough to send out a distress beacon.
Both attackers were knocked back from the sheer force of his impact, apparently choosing anger over their own sense of survival. The ensuing fight was incredibly one-sided, Ragnar gaining the upper servo with little effort. His broadsword was optimized for close combat as well as mid-range, taking out the first assailant with a clean cut.
Was there regret in his optics? For a moment, yes. But they had made their choice, and it was time to protect the innocent and unarmed from tyranny. It was both his Oath and his belief. The remaining mech fired a shot in close range, knicking the knight in his shoulder joint temporarily. Except it did little to slow him, as that arm had been the one he'd permanently damaged so long ago. Sensors no longer worked as they should, relying on his other servo to finish his final attack. His opponent crumpled to the ground in a shower of circuits, steam continuing to leak from the Knight's vents from exertion.
Sheathing his slightly stained blade, Ragnar made his way back to Bright Optics. his shield retracting to its hoster on his wrist. His shoulder was slightly wounded, scorched and sparking from the radius of the blast, but he paid little heed to it.
"There should be no threat for a while, now. Please, allow me to tend to your injuries.."
The Priestess and the Knight
Cont from here.
He noted her injuries with distaste, optics flicking over her form with minute curiosity. Like the signal he had found, she was incredibly unique in appearance. Insecticon ancestry, perhaps. The secondary arm sets he'd seen before on miners and heavy weight-bearers. Her soft murmur of his title was countered with a gentle nod, ocher optics spiraling in thought.
But there would be more time to examine her once the threat was eliminated. His medical skills were basic, but he was perfectly capable of patching field wounds. Countless millennia of battle left him honed for it.
The warbuild brought his broadsword out fully, glyphs glowing gold when his scuffed servos grasped its hilt. An even larger bastard sword rested between his scapula armor, a blue orb pulsing in time with his spark. A hint of another time, as well as his identity. He was easily the last of his kind, in several aspects. His reply was a warm rumble, softer than what one might think for such a large mech.
“My oath stands as such. You are under my protection, from hence on. They will be offered a chance of surrender. The choice is their own, whether their sparks shall continue to beat or face judgement.”
Their conversation had eventually brought the attention of a duo, Ragnar swiftly moving in front of his powered shield, and the priestess recovering behind it. Before he could utter a warning, a plasma blast fired in their direction. What the mercenaries did not expect was the knight's reflexes, his large blade easily deflecting the blast. Steam escaped the vents along his mask before he charged, barreling into the two with the force of a warbuild.
RESCUE [or savior if you are so inclined and willing] @brightestoptics
Savior
The distress signal he received emanated from the ruins of a former temple, unique in origin. It was neither Autobot or Decepticon, not at as ancient as his own. His steps thundered across cracked stone in an effort to pinpoint the signal's origin, it was close but distractingly erratic. Mercenaries stalked the grounds in a predatory amble, his aged battle senses easily picking up on their intentions. Whatever they were here for, it was not with a good purpose.
It wasn't until he came acrosss the form of a huddled priestess did he realize the severity of the situation. Gold and bronze metal was masked with soot, covering its likely bright visage. She'd avoided most of the fire, but ornate ring decorating her shoulders was more than a target. He settled himself into the role of a protector instantly, buckler expanding into a bright kite shield to protect them both from impacts.
Ocher met silver, noting her weakened state and battered chassis. Not very protective, it was obvious she was not suited for battle as he. Ragnar let out a puff of steam, servo placing itself onto the broadsword resting against his hip. His mask covered his calming look, optics hopefully reflecting it to bring her some comfort.
“Remain behind this shield. It will protect you while I disable any hostiles, my Lady.”

“I’d drink it!“
“Kill. Me. Now.”
“I need proof. Soon.“
“Got the scars to prove it.“
“Oh no! It’s worse than I thought.“
“Don’t open the door to check on it.“
“I would not suggest sleeping here.“
“Stop being charming when I’m mad!“
“You’re joking. There’s no such thing.“
“Done it. Less exciting than it sounds.“
“And, so you know, the feeling’s mutual.”
“When will this be ready? Smells dreamy.“
“I’m not really one for bringing up the past.”
“Dancing’s one of your many talents, then?”
“Wait, you’re making fun of me, aren’t you?“
“Ten credits says she ends up in a pit of spikes.“
“Really? Now I’m fascinated… and a little afraid.“
“I hope that’s not the voice of experience talking.”
“Please don’t embarrass me in front of our friends.“
“If I get eaten, even if it’s hilarious… delete the vids.“
“Eugh. May as well drop a guitar down an escalator.”
“You know, it’s hard to calculate how few fucks I give.”
“If you ever, y'know, want to talk about this… I’m here.”
“I’m going to rescue him, and then I’m gonna KILL HIM!”
“So, did I hear that right back there? You table-danced?”
“No excuses? Are you sure? I have so many good ones.”
“’Let’s split up’? Have you never watched a horror movie?”
“This thing has safeties in case you drive off this cliff, right?”
“That’s good to know, because that would be a very bad plan.”
“No, I mean… I think you’re cute and I like seeing you up here!”
“We are travelers, constantly moving forward and looking back.“
“I’d say ‘give it your best shot’, but I’ve already seen your best shot.”
“If you’re expecting a pat on the back, you’re going to be disappointed.”
“Don’t be stupid, of course we’ll make it in — wait, what did you just say?“
“For our insatiable curiosity. For our fear of what should happen if we don’t.“
“What’s with the smudge around the eyes? Trying to be some kind of superhero?”
“That’s twice now I’ve come back from the dead. Can’t say the experience is improving.“
“Seriously, it’s like a coloring book had a nightmare. Can someone take this thing off my hands?“
“Congratulations. No one has ever managed to elude my attempts to get to know them so well.“
A clearing which had once hosted brilliant life of spring, now found itself grayed and speckled with the season's first fall of snow. An imposing figure stood sentry, armored servos clasped at the hilt of a massive Greatsword. One would find him resembling an ancient statue, except for the foreign symbols that decorated his girthy limbs. Though only a few terran months had just passed, the flora around had slowly tried to claim this otherwordly warrior for their own.
Vines browned from the cold decorated weathered armor, calling them home until a gentle thrum began to sound in the empty clearing. It began from the titan's chest, ochre biolights flickering for a moment before brightening substantially. Shuttered vents opened fully, blasts of heat immediately melting snow that had gathered around their edges. Joints and hinges creaked, finally, a ragged groan sounded from within the withered figure.
Shuttering one aged optic, the other made sense of his surroundings. His ancient chronometer told him his rest had only lasted a few months, substantially shorter than his usual. Stagnant times in war, or the need for a full-time sentry, provided a need for such a mechanism as his stasis.
More than once he'd guarded the tomb of a Prime until mourning had ended, and a new successor chosen. This could take thousands of years, a blink in the optic for Cybertronians.
It would take his core a few minutes to fully warm, but for now he settled with stretching the aches from his joints. A hot bath would do wonders, but few luxuries existed in an environment such as this.
The prin-pick sensation of something brushing his damaged audio made the Knight glare slightly. Snow?
