For Starscream, it would seriously depend on the friend and the accident. Scream is a notorious jerk who has opened himself up to a (fortunate?) few, even before the war started.

If it was someone he really cared about, Star would drop everything the moment he heard and rush to be by said friend's side, likely not leaving them until a positive prognosis was reached.
