24in48 day 1
Time for bed. I'm at 7 hours now at the end of day 1.
I finished Brother by David Chariandy and worked on two other books and read an article for class.
Not bad. Definitely won't be making 24 hours but I expected that.

6 hours of reading done so far and I've finished this book. Might read a few chapters of Le conte de Monte Cristo before bed.
Reading update: read a bit more of Brother this morning and then listened to You Are a Badass at the gym.

What’s the oldest children’s book you have, or a book you’ve held onto since your childhood?
I can't bring myself to part with all my Boxcar Children and Saddle Club books just yet, bit this old tattered copy of Black Beauty (other side has Call of the Wild) is my most precious. It and a few other books in the series were given to me by my grandpa when I was a kid. Since he passed away I've started collecting other books in the series and have another copy of Black Beauty/Call of the Wild in much better condition but just can't part with this one.
42 minutes of reading. Going to bed now.
Some late night/early morning reading going down and kicking off the 24in48 Readathon. This will be my first read from the 2018 Canada Reads longlist as well.
I am officially defending my PhD thesis on December 14th!!!!
A student said I looked like a gothic Miss Frizzle. It had never occurred to me how perfectly this summarizes my style.

Lazy Sunday in which I can’t seem to focus on anything
Just started this beauty and I am totally hooked. If only I didn't have a million other things to do.

Submitting my thesis internally today (after I proofread it one last time) and I am completely losing my shit.
I was about to submit last night and my hands were shaking. Glad I decided to read it over again, I’ve picked up on a few little typos.
Ok, finishing this, let’s go.
Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy.
