You showed up again in my dreams last night. This time it was the last dream of my night. I woke up this morning with you on my mind, but for once it felt like it was for a different reason. I think this time, like with the final dream of your night; it's signaling the end of a chapter. A chapter that featured you and me in all our glory as we lit the world up like a star only to watch our love for each other burn out like the unforgiving inferno that engulfs a house. So I actually created this post back in the late summer/early fall of 2018 but I never posted it and it got lost in my drafts. Funny thing, myself and the person I'm speaking of in this post actually reconciled shortly thereafter. Things were good for some time, but then they weren't. Things really are meant to stay in the past and this relationship helped me learn that. It's been over a year since we called it quits, but I'm happy now. Like, I'm that same type of happy I was before we met. I remember the man I was before I got lost in our relationship, the man I am. I stand here today proud, with not a single regret and I hope you've found what you were looking for.
