I am still not over it.

Yesterday, we got provided with the best news the world could have received– we were facing what I believe will become a historic moment to be talked about in centuries to come. It is now official– Marriage Equality has been legalized in all 50 states of America, and the fact that the world is still celebrating, and most likely will keep on doing that, astounds me enormously. Meanwhile, we had a little celebration of our own in the House of Hummel, in which my dad entered my room this morning with balloons and a huge cake that will take days to finish at this point.

I don’t think anyone’s over it. America’s finally catching up with the times, and that’s something worth celebrating. June 26th, 2015 is a date that kids’ll read in textbooks in the future and they’ll think, “wait, that wasn’t legal at one point?” and it actually makes me have some faith in humanity.

It is a long story, but no. I am still in campus. And how could I forget your passion for literature? I am actually relieved to know someone understands. New-ish. It was released in 2014 if I am correct. I suppose you haven’t read it yet?

Wow, that’s more recent than I thought it was. And no, but I actually haven't read any of the series, sadly. I'm not too big on fantasy. Everyone tells me I should read it, though.

It should be addressed that I’ve spent the last few days locked in my room reading A Dance with Dragons and drinking very poorly mixed coffee whilst the rest of my classmates are partying. I also saw a cat through the window and received a call from my dad’s inquiring my whereabouts and claiming to be concerned. I need to leave my room.

We have a pool, for those of you who don't know, so bathing suits totally welcome. We'll make the most of whatever sun Lima's gonna give us, so we can start around lunch time? Don't tell the Rose girls, it's a surprise.

Damn right you do! Sentimental moment, you ready for this shit? Thank you for always being there for me, seriously. I’m glad you’re around aaand all that touchy feely shit. Sorry, I had to cut it short. I was getting that weird feeling in my stomach and started to feel sappier than I wanted to, faster than I wanted to. The candle is something people do though, yeah. She is, it’s apparently a bakery over there. She was crying on the phone when I talked to her and made the most “attractive” cry/laugh noise when I told her that, by the way. It was priceless. She loves you more than us, I’m pretty certain of it.

God, of course it is. Your mother is definitely the sad baker type. She was crying? That’s not even a little bit okay. That part is priceless, though. And I’m glad I could make her happy enough to make a noise like that, even if it was only for a second or two. I doubt that that’s true, but I’ll take the compliment, regardless. I have a feeling my ego’s gonna need it when my parents figure out where I really am this summer. Or, y’know, if.
