i decided to interpret this assignment like a word list. A word list of either things that inspire me artistically, or describe some part of myself.
I first began thinking about books that I would collect in my home, and then began to realize that the titles looked extremely similar to the kind of word lists I make before a project, or when creating an artist statement. A combination of me and things I am attracted to.
the bottom two photos are just things I found on the shelf that i was visually attracted to. The ominous, faded hardcover looked like something I would collect had I found it in a thrift store or something.
Walk. Collect or document what you find interesting.
I took a different, longer route home from work. My favorite find was the eyeball tree.

This particular prompt gave me a reason to experiment with crystallization while allowing me to play with scale. I wanted to create something that could stand alone by itself, serve a purpose, and then serve as a host for something different and altogether more appealing.
