Juan Manuel: Tras la huella de Chambi (Peru)

When Castro Prieto returned to Peru in 2009-2010 he did so with the desire to pay tribute to a great Peruvian master. He followed the steps of Martin Chambi, venturing into a more social field than in the past, but never trying to imitate him.  His use of colour, as in his more recent photos, underscores the fact that the works of Chambi and of Castro Prieto, belong to different eras, where the Spanish photographer seeks continuities, correspondences and ruptures.
