I REALLY like your rap, I think you did a really good job with that. I think you have a good base and a really pretty tone, and I think if you continue to improve on your technique you are going to sound amazing someday. I look forward to it! Good job.

She was a little flat in some of her lines, but she kept up pretty well with the rest of the cast. Brey, your bridge line slayed my LIFE. Mei your voice is my life staple omfg. And Hanii is such a queen, as always. The mixing was a little off and I think if the timing would have been more tight this would have sounded so much better. Because this cast is pretty bomb, and I think the few parts that I heard that sounded weird were off mostly because of the timing. Other than that, this was a good collab guys :D 8. All In (Monsta X) – GANGTAN X https://youtu.be/qviKeSWckAs The volumes were all over the place, so it was a little distracting. Everyone lacked energy so it was kind of hard to listen to in one sitting. Jaehwa is the one who stood out to me. She didn’t get many lines but she committed. I was kind of sad at the lackluster rapping because the raps are supposed to be the highlight of Monsta X songs. I’ve heard everyone in this group sing/rap before and I KNOW you’re all better than this. In mixing and in singing/rapping. I was kind of disappointed because I thought you were really going to take advantage of this being a really easy to sing song and just KILL IT. It wasn’t bad, I just felt like you could do better. Take this as a constructive critique, because I like all of you guys individually and I know that you are capable of way more than this. So don’t look at the other critiques like “y was she so mean” it’s because I want you to improve, you know? Think of me as your collab mother scolding you because I know you can do better LOL

Because it sounded fine in some places and then completely went off pitch in others. Love love love Hanii as fany. Always. Rei, you’ve really improved since I last heard you! Love Veri’s Hyo lines, also.

I don’t normally like English covers because they’re normally fairly awkward but I really liked how your lyrics flowed. The last rap was a little weird but overall this was very well written. I also like that I could hear your voice, because I think that’s been my biggest issue with your covers in the past. Good job! Try to stabilize yourself more with high notes if you can, but overall this was really good!

Your rap is so different from your singing voice and I think you tried to imitate Simon a bit? Which is fine. It’s a cover, I don’t blame you. But I wish it would have had the same feminine flair your singing did. It didn’t sound bad! I just think you need to do you next time, ya know? But I loved the hell out of this cover! Good job >U<)b

It’s not bad, I just always think it sounds out of place in ballads and idk if they do it in the original but, yeah, I think you should maybe watch for that because I know it distracts me when I’m listening to covers. I think you did a good job with your emotions but I also feel like you could pull more and take this cover from just good to excellent. Overall this cover was really good! I just know that you’re capable of more and I want to help pull it out of you. 2. Those high notes. And the raps *____* I needed these raps in my life omg you two sound really good together. (oh hey it’s been 20 weeks since I first judged for this, that’s kinda amusing)

Okay so, long story short, I’m working on a project right now. I checked Facebook and realized that KWMC said they anticipated this being uploaded yesterday. Then I realized I hadn’t started this. So cue a slightly-frazzled EmC hopping onto this week’s chart to finish this. Sorry if my comments are short, but without further ado, let’s get to this, shall we?

Your pitch actually wasn’t all over the place? I thought it was pretty good! I just generally wish you had taken your time recording this in general; it generally came off as shouty I could also tell those harmonies were rushed at some points. With all of that being said, I really do think you fit this song! With a better mic and a bit more time put into recording I’d frankly say this’d be the best PYF cover I’d ever heard, but those things really did bring it down for me. Keep on working, you’re doing an amazing job!

Shim, girl, I LOVE your main melody vocals! Your harms were a bit dissonant though. That’s the only thing I’d have to say you need to work on, cuz otherwise I was totally blown away! Sheri, it sounds like you were straining to match the feel of this song; try to be a bit more relaxed! I feel like you have a great natural voice, I just want to hear ya utilize it fully. Miyoko, my comments for you are similar to Shim - your vocals are great, and your harms are pretty good too, but they could be a bit more solid. Sash your 9 seconds were gold lol - a little bit shouty, but that’s your general rapping tone and I love listening to it. Overall, you all did a pretty good job - other than those minor comments and a few balancing issues with the mix, this was a great release!

I’m really glad you lowered this, because this low key absolutely suited your voice (: your tone in this range, though, came off as really muffled. Otherwise, this was a really good cover and I always love listening to you sing :3

Honestly I was first shocked by this - I really thought I was listening to Taeyeon for a split second? You definitely suited this and I’m glad you covered it! It’s refreshing and, as I said, it completely fits your voice :3 My only comment would be your mic - I feel like it sounds a lil bit fuzzy? I felt like I was hearing some static there. That could be a mixing thing, but it’s something to note. Great job!

This is a lil awkward for me to judge tbh because I heard a demo of this before it was released fakfjdskl-- so sorry Brey, but this is gonna be shorter since you already know most of my comments about it! (Speaking of which though, I’m glad you took them into consideration - it definitely showed!)

Firstly, your mixing of this is awesome! As an acoustic coverist myself I know it’s hard to balance this stuff, but I think you did a great job. You panned really well too :3 my only real suggestion would be to watch your tone. You have technique and everything down packed, but I feel like you stretch syllables sometimes. I hear a lot of ‘e’ sounds where there are supposed to be more open vowels. It’s something you kinda have the tendency to do in general, but it’s the only negative I could find; keep up the awesome work!!

YIKES THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THIS-- I opened the description bar to write the names in the title and almost choked afksjfl. BUT IT’S MULTILINGUAL SO THAT’S TOTALLY OKAY. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m generally obsessed listening to people speak/sing in foreign languages. I’m rambling. Anyway. I think you all totally nailed this - I think my biggest problem is with mixing? A lot of mics came off as really harsh, while some were just really muffled. I would’ve also liked if the harms had a bigger presence, since there weren’t really any to begin with. Yoooo it’s Brey again~

This week we only had 8 entries, so everyone will be included on the list. Why is it that every time I judge there aren’t even 10 entries to make a top 10 lol. Anyway, this is quite heavily based on whether I liked what I heard or not bc (as you all know) I’m not a good mixer. Let’s get to the list~!!

I really like the idea of multilingual collabs! Idk Spanish so I won’t talk about the lyrics, but at times I felt like the English lyrics didn’t flow too well with the song. But good effort! I’m really bad at writing my own lyrics hahaha. The mixing was up and down for me. I felt like there were quite a few volume issues, the one that bothered me the most was how loud some of the parts were. I’d say before exporting just listen through a couple more times to make sure everything is balanced out. Good job to the cast tho, you all did well!!

This was a pretty good collab, especially since there are so many people! I do feel like some parts in this lack energy, and the volumes could’ve been balanced better (sometimes there were parts that were really loud and then suddenly the next part is significantly softer). The instrumental could have been louder and the all parts timed more tightly. But a good effort, this couldn’t have been easy to mix since there are so many people plus all those background vocals!

For starters, I think your group name is really cool LOL

This is a really nice cast!! I’ve never heard Myco and Minra before, but I really enjoyed Myco’s parts and Minra’s rap~ I think Miyu and Cheonrin did great as usual too!! I liked the mix as well, but sometimes the instrumental was too loud/the vocals were too soft (eg. boom boom ba boombayah parts at the end of the chorus were a lot softer than they should be). Overall I really like this collab, good job girls~!!

I was left feeling quite mesmerizing by this duet, I must say.

Idk when I imagined your voices in this song before I listened to it, I didn’t really expect them to fit this song for some reason. But once I listened to it, I really enjoyed both your voices here! Although I think there were some parts that were too low for you guys, it wasn’t very noticeable. You guys did so well with the rap too~!! The mix was well done! The instrumental was a bit too loud but it’s a small issue. I really enjoyed this and will be looking forward to more 2YEON duets, great job~~

I liked the energy here! I’ve never listened to the original so idk the effects from the original but I think you did well with them. I think the chorus ‘good’ pitch changes sounded really legit so I’m gonna say you did well with those!! The harmonies were on point, and Sooyeon you slayed those raps!! This overall sounded really fun, great job you both~!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this!! The chorus parts sounded so energetic, I looove it~ I think everyone suited the lines they were given, and I’m blown away by how Christina was able to do Mingyu’s low lines! Also Miyu, daaaang gurl, that high note!!! I also really like how we (or most of us) were able to go from Pretty U to Very Nice, since Very Nice is a lot more high energy than Pretty U I feel. Good job guys!!!

The others did really well too, I loved how fun and energetic this sounds~ The mix was also really clean, which I really like~

I love this omg. Everyone sounds amazing and even tho I don’t understand German and can’t comment on the lyrics, the lyrics flowed really well! Sash (as usual) did really well with her rap parts! Dreamy and Michii did well as Suga and Hobi as well~ I’m not familiar with the vocal line in this collab, but I’m glad I got to hear new people!! I especially enjoyed Aria as Taehyung and Mei and Jungkook. The mixing was also really nice and clean, as expected of Sash! This was overall very well put together, good job everyone!!

Girl! Your voice is soooo strong! But, and I’m sure I sound like a broken record at this point, your mic quality brings this down x.x However, just based on the vocals, I really enjoyed! Your Sana parts were refreshing and I liked the choruses too! The mixing could’ve been tighter so things didn’t sound crowded and muddy, but again based on vocals alone you did well!

Good job girls! Emma this style of song was good for you! Your verses sounded good! And April I enjoyed your opening lines! However, there were issues with emotion and energy in this and there were some spots where the harmonies were pretty off. Also the vocals were a little too loud in spots, so I would’ve liked to hear more balancing with that and more EQ’ing so things sounded a little more complimentary.

Yay Brey! Good job with this! I really like your Yoojung and Yeonjung parts and the raps! You sounded the strongest during those parts! Overall this was a good cover but you were a bit flat through the choruses and in the beginning during the pinky and chaeyeon verses >. < Still enjoyed listening!

You really shined during those parts! The harmonies were kind of off though, so it made the choruses a little awkward to listen to considering it was the only spot with them. Also I appreciate your energy a lot, but the squeaks during most of your lines took it a little toward the point of insincerity, so just watch out for those~ Overall you did well!

Great job with the harmonies girl! I really enjoyed them a lot! Overall this was a pretty cover, which is good, but it lacked energy. It got better during the rap (loved your rapping tone!) but the vocals didn’t make for a super ideal match for this type of song.

Girl you sound so pretty in this! And I love the harmonies you added during the rap, they sounded so smooth and pretty! However, the vocals were completely over produced and it distracted a quite a bit x.x Also, I’m sure you’re aware that your mic is really muffled in this, which brought down the overall quality a lot. The singing was really pretty, there was just major missteps in the post production >. <

Some of you sounded a little too sharp. But overall great job with this!

Omg this was so pretty! Those harmonies! *_* Really great job with this! Your voice was such a perfect fit for the instrumental...and those harmonies! So good! <3 My only critique is that your mic sounded a little scratchy/like as if some noise removal tool was used (don’t know if it was but it had that metallic-y sound) Which brought down the quality a tiny bit. However, I still really, really enjoyed this! Great job!!!

K-ollab Weekly Music Chart - Week 64 - TOP 10

Hi~ This is Veri for Week 64. Anyway, someone posted like 50 covers for this week, so if your name isn’t Kevin, you should probably stop reading. See, now I’m in a tough spot because I’m stuck ranking which ones of your covers I think are best, but you do good covers so!

I’m just going to put a few comments here because I feel like this applies to several of your covers. First, how lucky your judge is a BTS stan lmaoo, but also I mayyyy have ranked your BTS covers a bit higher because BTS is on fie right now. Second, I really appreciate the talent and effort that goes into making your own instrumentals. Always a pleasure to listen to a cover with good instrumentals. Third, I just really love Kevin’s voice. And finally, the instrumentals are always really nicely mixed, but I feel like the mixing on the vocals are a bit lacking, mostly on the mic qualities and balance in the volumes.

10. BlackPink - Boombayah & Whistle Medley

I think the instrumental for this was very creative and I love what you did with the distinct whistley parts from Whistle in the instrumental. However, it moved the two songs into the slower, ballad territory, which personally I am not fond of. I prefer Boombayah especially, as a powerful, high energy song. Both of your vocals are great so I have no complaints. However, because this was like a demo and not a full cover, I had to put it this low.

The harmonies in this are so beautiful!! The Suga rap was so good! She handles the lowness of it really well and her flow was amazing!! The girl who did RapMon’s rap had great energy I love it! So many raps lack energy these days. A few issues I had with this was that J-Hope’s “party party” line faded in energy as it went on and I feel as if Kevin should have covered the last line of J-Hope’s rap in the bridge as it was too low for the girls. Also, the volumes at the end were really uneven. I could barely hear Zoe at all. Still, this was a really great cover. Kevin’s singing is great as always and I love the raps!

I have consolidated both covers into the same ranking since my commentary for both are the same. These were so nice! I found myself wishing for a bit more power from Zoe but overall great! I especially loved Kevin in Love Letter. Not much to say about this ^^’’ The rap in Tonight was well done too!

Love the instrumental!! The runs were well executed too. I think the rearrangement made this song much too repetitive and took out a lot of the power of the song. The bridge also lacked impact for me, but it’s still great! For me, the instrumentalists really shone in this though ^^

I really enjoyed Leena and Daya in this, but all of you did well.The main distracting thing in this though were the mics and the harmonies. The poor mic quality really takes away from this as well as the harmonies. The majority of them clashed and really took away a lot x.x But not taking that into account, the main vocals were good! I really liked this rearrangement and I enjoyed your singing parts! *_* The raps however were really awkward x.x I think they would have sounded better if you did them an octave higher/in your own voice instead of trying hard to do them in the original key. Yay great job! Here and there were some people who paled in comparison to others and seemed a bit out of place, but still didn’t take away from the collab. Just wish everyone had better mics. TLDR; I’m Emma Cathy/EMC, I loved all the entries from this week and hope that you guys will keep submitting more in the future, yadda yadda yadda. You know the drill. All of you suited the roles to a certain extent, but there was a definite distinction between quality. The difference in experience was a bit apparent between the more veteran singers and the lesser known ones. It made this cover a bit hard to listen to, but I really do appreciate all the effort that went into it. Overall, not a bad cover, but there are definitely some things that need to be worked on. (I apologize if this was blunt; I tried wording this differently a bunch, but couldn’t find ways to do it without getting my point across-) 5 - Russian Roulette (Red Velvet) - Dayah & Eva [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWoPomhnHXE] YEET IT’S AN ACAPELLA COVER. Fun fact, I’m obsessed with anything truly acapella, so I commend you for arranging this. With that being said, I’m gonna be a lil bit harsher with this since I’m experienced with this style lol. A lot of your chords were off, especially during Yeri/Irene’s part of the verse (note; there are usually no dissonant or inverted chords in mainstream k-pop songs) which takes a bit from the impact. I also would’ve loved if your la-la-la’s at the end were a bit fuller; there are elements from the original song that you could’ve brought in that would’ve helped there. Otherwise, this was a really great arrangement! If you polished your technique (and got a better mic ; o ;) I could see you easily becoming a stand out in the community, so keep up the great work! 4 - BOOMBAYAH (BLACKPINK) - GROUP A [Farrah, Cheonrin, Miyu, Mei] [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz1sqOeKkZA&feature=youtu.be] This was a pretty bomb rendition of Boombayah! Also, there were a few pronunciation issues in some parts, but it wasn’t a big deal. Otherwise, this was a pretty damn good cast - I love it! 3- A-ing! All the chords were well-structured, especially since you didn’t necessarily follow the original instrumental. I also didn’t detect anything really out of tune either. Great use with the dynamics as well! My only comment is about the mixing; it could’ve been blended a teeeeeeeny bit better, and also panned. Note when it comes to balancing acapella; don’t have the highest parts be the loudest. I’d suggest to Asa that she watch the pointedness of her tone at times; it sounded a bit too aggressive for this delicate of a song at times, otherwise you were great.. Yeah, I’d agree that this isn’t your best mix, but I trust that you already know how to fix that considering how good of a mixer you are lol. I have a feeling that was Veri. SHE ALSO KILLED IT HONESTLY SCALP ME. Farrah had a perfffffffeeccttttt amount of sass for this song, and I honestly think she did her lines better than the original-- Janey, you’re perfect. You already know that though. Keep doing you. Snowy, your voice was a nice compliment too haha. My only personal problem with this collab were Hyunjae’s lines, for one reason; girl, I really wish you wouldn’t process your lines before you sent them in ;-; I’ve heard your raw voice before, and it’s flawless as is, but because you edited them beforehand, they kinda stuck out of the overall mixing and didn’t blend as well ;-; otherwise, you nailed everything; I just feel the mix could’ve flowed just that much better without the extra effects added beforehand ; v ; anyway, this was an amazing cover, and definitely earned first in my eyes! This song is pretty tough, but I feel Dayah did well with the high parts apart from some general pitchiness~ Also I would have liked if you both had better mics/sang directly into your mics. Even though you are maxed out in some parts, your voices aren’t very clear and sound like they’re in a cave D; However, again the group parts were good and the high parts had the right amount of power! Good job guys!

Maybe singing the intro verses an octave up or raising the overall key would have been better since they sounded kind of awkward and strained. However that was just a small part of this and overall this was good!

The group parts are where it fell a little flat for me. They didn’t have the same impact as the rest of the parts, and didn’t blend as well as they could have, and it’s a shame cus the rest of this was really great!!

It wasn’t bad, but it’s the only place I could say needed some work~

When I saw this song in the entries for this week I was expecting a lot of screaming to reach those high notes. Fortunately I think you both handled the high notes fine~! I feel that Yurain’s voice is a little too soft and sweet for such a high energy and powerful song, but I really like her chorus part, also I think she could’ve “let go” a bit more to make her parts sound more alive. (I’m sorry idk how to phrase this properly I hope I made sense lol ;;) On the other hand Dayah has a tone more suited to this song but I felt she was struggling with her parts more. As for the mixing, I think the vocals sound quite separated (?) from the instrumental. Overall a good attempt from you both at this challenging song!

Throughout listening to this I just felt it was slightly lacking in energy. The chorus parts were kinda underwhelming for me, I wish the cast had maybe done doubles for the all parts to help them sound fuller. I think Hoshi had good energy, although some of her lines were kinda static-y, idk if it’s bc of the mixing and effects or if she maxed out her mic when recording, but it bothered me a little. I think Bella improved a lot but still needs to work on staying on pitch, with more practice you’ll get there Bella! K and Dayah did well with their parts~ Well done girls!

It was a good attempt but I’m kinda put off bc of some pitch issues throughout the song. Since the mix was really good, all I’d say is to work on staying on pitch more and it’ll be a great cover!

Good job you both!! I really love Kelsey’s rapping, and I don’t think I’ve heard Dari rap before but aside from some pronunciation errors I’m impressed~ both your singing parts sound great too!! As for the mixing, I didn’t really notice this until I listened to the acapella but the echoes in Kelsey’s rap were too loud and really distracting. Would’ve been better if they weren’t quite so loud but I guess it’s not a big deal bc it wasn’t so noticeable with the instrumental. But the mixing is good otherwise~ Since this is a duet it can’t really be helped but it sounds like it’s too low/high for a guy to sing in the original pitch, so Dari’s parts sound a bit too low compared to Kelsey’s. Oh another thing was Dari didn’t sing the chorus parts except the ‘oppa’ adlibs? Would’ve been nice if he did, but again, not a big deal. But really, this was a great duet!!!

I was going back and forth between the top 2 for soooo long, they’re both so so good~!!! Ultimately this is what I’m going for!

I loooveee everyone’s vocals in this! So pretty and so much emotion! I’m so glad you didn’t fall into the trap of whispering your lines because this is slow song. There were a few spots of pitchiness, but you all seriously did really well. However, the timing on the group part at the end was really messy and the biggest thing about this collab was that I could hear the noise removal filter that was used on everyone’s mics in this. I understand that the white nosie in the background of mics should be removed but I would suggest staying away from noise removal and experimenting with EQ, which I know is hard but it would give it a fuller and more natural sound. If you HAVE to use noise removal, I would suggest being a little less heavy handed with it ^^’’

I had high expectations, because your Italian collabs are always great. Italian is such a beautiful language, so I really enjoyed hearing this song in Italian! (I love this song) I think all of your voices are so strong, and powerfull. Also your voices are easy to recognize, but the video was still very handy. The only thing that I noticed is that the chorus sounded “far away”. It sounded like your voices were in a long distance. But I still am in love with this collab!

Thiiiiiiis is a damn nice cast, to be honest, and I think with a better mix it'd been perfect ;; The chorus sounded a bit empty to me, I think if you'd panned the vocals a bit, it would've sound fuller. Also sometimes the EQ is a bit too much, the 's' is hurting now and then. Sometimes the volumes are super fine, sometimes they're too loud or too quiet, especially at the end, I think the FIREEEE's and Hot-Hot-Hot-Hotter's could've been louder, while Farrah was too loud compared to the group parts. To the cast: Farrah, fuck fuck fuck. You slayed V a looooooooooooooot. Omg. I didn't expect that. Well, I did expect slayage, but this slayage??!?! I'M DONE WITH YOU. Yurah, omg. Perfection. Just perfection. Nana, the same goes to you. You know I love your J-Hope. XD Mallorie slayed Jimin's parts as well! That pooooower. It sounds amazing. I loved your AOW a lot. Besides that; I liked this cast a lot! JW, Margareth and May, goddammmiiit your power was amazing in here! Your voices fit this song perfectly ;; I love it. Brey and Jaehwa did amazing, as well! I wished a bit more power from Brey in her part, though. Heeyeon, although you had just one part; I liked it! But your harmonies were lightly off-pitch. It sounded pretty!~ I wish you had a better mic; I think it would really take your covers to the next level, since it gave your voice a really metallic sound, and it just lowered the quality of the cover. I would have also would have liked to hear things panned more since it sounded crowded just all being on the center channel. Otherwise I thought you really fit this song well! The choruses were lovely! Good job!

I enjoyed listening to this! Great job to everyone in this *_* Overall this was a solid collab, however there was very obvious mic differences in this. Some were very sharp while some sounded muffled, and because of that I wish there was more of an effort made to make everything sound more cohesive. It was distracting to listen to. I really enjoyed how the harmonies were mixed. Also, while everyone sounded pretty, I wish everyone had more attitude in their lines. Good job nonetheless!

Hmm, this one is kind of hard for me to judge. There are so many of my favorites in this, but there are some parts that are really throwing me off. For starters, I’m not sure if this is supposed to sound so compressed and tuned, but it is, and It’s not very pleasant to listen to x.x The tuning made a lot of parts lose a lot of personality and sound very flat (not pitch wise, but just very plain). And the compression on top of it just makes it sound like everyone sang inside a cardboard box. I will say that the mics sound similar so good job with that and the harmonies were mixed well. As far as the vocals, there were some people who slurred lines and some parts that were low energy, but there were some really good moments in this! The lead vocals sounded great and I really enjoyed the rap section!

Teach me because I can’t vibrato ever.

I used to be heavily into the coverist world and left it to, you know, focus on my studies or whatever excuse the kids give these days. Now I'm back and I'm disappointed in some of the turns the community has taken. I only had nine entries to judge so every single one made it on to the chart but I'm not super happy with that. Oh this is the same girl singing the same role with the same lines in the same song with a different person rapping? Well! So Dayah didn't really give me a reason to listen to this whole thing again and I peaced out after a minute or so but she's not doing a the worst job I just. Already. Listened to 50% of this. These are both #9 because these are exactly the same except for the rapper part being replaced. Personally, if I was asked to do a song I'd already done with someone, I'd say "Sorry, I already did Inferiority Complex with EMC, can we do something else?" This is a community based on COVERS. It's already unoriginal enough without reusing the same set of lines.

I don't really know this song! It's a rare instance of like . . . K-pop-rock. It's a good little song and you're singing it just fine (if not a bit flat, watch that when you sing songs in a lower range. This is low on emotion and power but if you reach inside yourself and push yourself, you'll find it, I promise.

This vocalist has the sexy moan-y bits of the song down but forgot to bring the power and emotion. There's a lot of vocalists in the K-pop community I call Star Of The High School Choir where there is nothing particularly WRONG with their voice and it's lovely but nothing about it stands out, nothing about it makes me go "She has music in her soul." Anyone can break out of the Star Of The High School Choir rut by pushing their already good voice past it's comfort zone. Sing loud. Sing crazy. Sing passionately. Sing from your heart. Embarrass yourself with your soaring and unapologetic voice. You're a good singer Jaze Marie but don't fall into a soft-voice-ballad-trap. Next time, bring the house DOWN with your longing and your raw power. Wake up your parents. Shake the foundation.

I remember this from P90! To be honest I looking forward to all of the rap rounds being disasters since so many people wanted vocals over raps and I thought all the rap rounds would be vocalists struggling real hard . . . turns out the only disaster was the Come Back Home I was in (ha . . .). I was so surprised by how turned out all the rap songs ended up. I think this could benefit from being remixed with more effects and care and maybe even a male doing the chorus (the male taking the song down an octave for the chorus provided a bit more texture and broke up the song) but I know these P90 rounds were frantically pumped out. I like this well enough. Good work y'all!

Hi Mei. We've never spoken but I am such a huge fan and have such a voice-crush on you. Is that okay? Am I creepy? Are we cool? Anytime I hear Mei in a collab I'm like "Who the fuck is that chick bringing the fire- oh. It's Mei. OBVIOUSLY." I feel like a lot of rapping in the collab community is like SM Town rapping. More voice acting than anything, just repeating what was written in a fierce pretend-voice. Mei has actual attitude and flow. I think my favorite part of this is how you're covering like 10+ incredibly different rappers but you'd never know if you weren't familiar with Unpretty Rapstar (or payed attention to the lyrics). Mei made this sound like a Mei solo written for Mei and that impressed me just as much as Italian lyrics and an acoustic arrangement. Basically #1-4 are all #1 in my heart and are pretty much ranked at random. Love you all.

YOU. ARE. SO. CUTE. omg your hair is absolutely fierce, your lips are on point, girl you got some strong brows going on in the best way I am HERE FOR THIS. What a strong visual in this K-pop group. And strong vocals! The other two sung solos lacked the emotion required for their songs and here's an acoustic version of Cheer Up and Vee has nailed it. This is the sort of arrangement that calls for a laid back vocal and it works and Vee still has energy and also KILLS IT on the high adlibs. I love the little kind of a capella bits she adds toward the end. She could have just had an easy cool acoustic cover with the guitar instrumental but she was like "No I can go an extra mile" and she DID.

Starting off our list is a wonderful Red Velvet entry ^^! Though I think some of you suited this song well, other voices could’ve benefited being in a more energetic song in my mind and not a ballad (not that the voices themselves were bad, but I just don’t think they suit this style of song). I also felt that there were some minor pitch errors. However, out of all the groups on this list I think this team had the best team blend. Your chorus lines together were wonderful and showed me you all could go on to do more collabs together well~. Also, your background harmonies/ doubles were well balanced AND panned which always makes me happy ;~;.

Is it true? YAS OKEY DOKEY YOOOOOOOOOOO~! -bounce bounce-. JK, I have no sweg ;~; -rolls away-. Everyone here has more sweg than me hueheuhue ♥. My highlight here is everyone’s attitude for their lines. You can tell everyone definitely practiced and tried to give their all which I love! Unfortunately, I think every cast member suited the song (still good rappers but I think a different rap song might have suited some of the lighter voices). Some of that could’ve been supported by extra doubles lines (or greater emphasis of current double lines). I also wish that the differences in the mics weren’t as apparent, however, this mix is still a good attempt at a song that’s not easy to mix. There’s a lot of empty space in the instrumental and it leaves flaws in the open much more so than other songs so you all did better than I could ;~;!.

One of my favorite songs from this summer YAY!

I really enjoyed Soyura’s rap verses here, you’re such a natural LE ;~;! (teach me some time~~~). Your sweg should be noticed more often ♥! Sunnie as Junghwa was perfect in matching her cute lines too hehe. If i’m to nit pick AND REALLY NIT PICK because you guys made it hard, I would’ve liked the doubles/adlibs to be panned or to be softened as it spiked in the mix. Also, there were some minor pronunciation mistakes BUT NOT REALLY BIG! Overall nice collab, thank you for your hard work to bring this together!

THROWBACK TIME ♥! Ugh those were the days, I remember fangirling so hard when this song first came out (insta-album buy). And what a wonderful cast to perform it ;~;! The beginning had a few pitch hiccups but other than that, vocals and rap were very pleasant in this collab. My biggest concern is the energy level of this song. It’s such an emotional piece (sometimes on a comical level but that was like all things back then hehe), so I wished there was a little more energy in the lines, and especially the chorus ;~;. STILL a wonderful collab with talented singers & rappers nonetheless~.

Here I found your chorus lines were my favorite, you all blend well together. Unfortunately differences in EQ and Volumes clashed so I couldn’t hear your wonderful blend as much as I would’ve liked ;~;! Try panning and lowering some of the volumes next time and your killer blend will come out even better ♥. On an individual basis, Gaara and Jaehwa definitely stood out to me. Gaara had a wonderful, silky tone and a very stable vibrato which I enjoyed, While Jaehwa’s emotions were perfectly showcased in her lines. I think Jaehwa’s ballad like voice especially complimented this collab :D/

EEEEEE FT.ISLAND (-drools-). You have a talent for writing english lyrics, i really loved the way your lyrics flowed. Please continue to write english lyrics, they’re simply wonderful!! Your voice also matches this song so well ;~;. You have a perfect voice for these heavy style rock songs -envy- LOL ♥. The only reason why i couldn’t place this entry higher on the chart is because of the mixing. Sometimes it sounded like you were too muffled ;~; ( I want to hear more of your beautiful voice). Perhaps play with your EQ settings and see if you can bring the high tones of your voice out more. Otherwise, thank you for bringing such a cool cover to the community ;~;!

This is probably one of my favorites in terms of mix this week~! Usually I don’t like it when vocals/rap are noticeably louder than the instrumental, but I felt it worked well for this cover. And all the background harmonies/adlibs sounded so natural in the mix. When that happens everything slips in like butter to my ears hehe. I think the only thing I would focus going forward is your vibrato. It’s not quite as stable as I would like it just yet, but with more practice I think it will become a very strong voice hehe ( you already have a good handle on pitch ♥). Lastly, your rap is my favorite part to listen to, you always emphasize the right words so it sounds wonderful hehe.

Herro team Blaze it o/! First off, wonderful cast, I’m glad to hear you all singing this song hehe!

I will say first off that mixing was not a highlight for me in this song (differences in mic volumes, eq, etc), HOWEVER, I really loved each of your voices in this song and that really is what put me over to place all of you so high. Hyunjae’s voice was like butter to my ears, Laya gave a great laid back vibe, Sho’s rap has a wonderful edgy attitude, and EmC has a wonderful smooth quality. But overall Hyunjae’s voice was such a highlight that I wanted to push this entry high on the chart this week, keep working that voice ♥!

The “I Hate You,” in the song turns into “I Love You” in my mind when i listen to this~! Though there were some parts that i wished were a little more amped in energy, I felt overall this was the most balanced collab on the chart this week. Casting and Mixing were nicely balanced in quality and the vocals/rap sounded so smooth *o*!! I’ve also been a huge fan of Farrah’s voice for a long time so whenever i hear her it’s hard not to fangirl HUEHUEHUE! Thanks for pulling together a wonderful collab to listen to :D ♥!

HOLY SH*T GIRL THIS BE FIYA!! (excuse my language I got excited owo b). You always had such an amazing ear for rhythm when rapping that i’ve heard in every rap you’ve tackled, and I envy you greatly for it ;~;! Your attitude with your opening line literally gave me goosebumps, and I could feel your emotions through every word. Even the mix was good~, I’m usually someone who likes to hear vocals sit in the instrumental more rather than have vocals much louder than the instrumental SO PROPS YOU HIT EVERY MARK FOR MEEE <3 I really don’t have any negatives for this, I absolutely love this cover ;~;!!!

Seriously, judging Week 47 was so so fun, so it was really exciting to have been asked to return to judge another week! There were so many amazing entries this time, so I’m sorry if yours didn’t make this list - however, I enjoyed listening to all of them and encourage you to keep submitting for this chart and working on your own to strengthen the talent that all of you possess :3 without further ado, here’s this week’s top 10!

10 - Somehow (DIA) - Min

This may be one of my favorite covers of yours now, Min! I hadn’t listened to it before this, and I wish I had ;-; your voice suits this concept perfectly, and I loved listening to it! I just wish this cover wasn’t so empty ; A ; there were definitely harms missing (or just not on pitch, as I discovered while listening to the acapella) and I feel they would’ve made the cover even more special! I loved your doubles though, and your BG vocals were very nice. You also have a slight tendency to fall flat at the very last second of some of your longer held notes, causing a really weird effect when you add your natural vibrato to it...I don’t know how to explain it. Let’s call it a vibrato-squeak lol. Overall, this was a very good cover, and I hope to hear more from you with this kind of concept!

Okay, if I were to rank this list based on just technical ability, this collab would not have been ranked 9th. It might not have even made this list. However, I’m giving this a high score for the effort that was put into it. This team is not one of the strongest vocally by any means, but the work that I feel was put into this is what makes it special. All of these vocalists had something to bring to the table, and I think it blended pretty well! Hyemi, Sunshine, and Tokie - I really thought your tones suited this the best, and just that alone was very pleasing to the ear, so thank you <3 Soyura and Rika...I’ll admit, this isn’t really your concept, but you did a great job with it! Your tones were a bit pointed at times and didn’t suit it very well, but you rolled with it and made something great out of it! My MVP for this collab is Hyemi; you sound like a mini Jaehwa at times (pls take that as a compliment because it is) and I absolutely enjoyed listening to you in this, even though you were a sub! I need to hear you singing more >:U honorable mention for this is Sunshine! I hope you all did well in this competition, and I wish you the best of luck!

8 - Joker (DALSHABET) - Team E [Snow, Sash, JW, Jessie]

Don’t get me wrong. This is a great cast, and vocally they nailed their parts. They really did. However...my biggest problem, and the reason this ranked low for me, is because of tone. The vocalists in this collab seemed to have the tendency to shout, especially for the higher notes, and it was a bit unpleasing to the ear. Especially considering this is a sultry, sexy kind of song, a softer (yet still energetic) tone would’ve been a lot better, and would’ve changed my opinion about this. As for Sash, you did a great job rapping - however, your first rap felt a bit awkward in pitch. Everything else was great though, and I love your energy! My MVP for this collab is JW - that high note was amazing (and was my favorite part of this collab) and she overall sounded like she had the most consistent control. Great job overall, ladies, but definitely watch out for your tone in the future, if you do ever attempt to cover songs like this in the future.

7 - Oh! (Oh My Girl - Girls Generation Cover) - Seolah, Kelsey, Alice, Min, Hanii, Hina, Sam, Logan

This was such a hard collab to judge because I don’t know the members of OMG and could barely tell who was singing what parts but anyway-- great collab! I was instantly blown away by how full the alls are, and those honestly might have been my favorite part of this collab! However, I did have a few nitpicky things about the soloists. Logan, I feel like your aegyo voice sounded a bit too forced - it sounded good in the collab, but maybe tone it down or practice it some more to make it sound a bit more natural! Seolah, you lacked a bit of energy, but your vocal parts were extremely stable and they impressed me! Hina, your tone suited this song really well, but your squeaky tendencies were still there sometimes ;-; keep practicing, I know you can do it! Hanii, I believe I mentioned this the last time I judged, but watch out for your vocal power - sometimes it can be a bit overpowering! It wasn’t as overpowering this time, but it’s still something to note! Finally, Kelsey - a few of your solo parts were a teensy bit flat in pitch, but your energy level totally made up for it and I enjoyed listening to you <3 My MVP for this collab is Min! I feel she naturally suited this song the best, so props to her! Honorable mentions go to Alice and Sam, who also did an amazing job with this cover. I hope you guys keep collabing together - I’d love to see it!

Okay...I’ve never said this before in my life, but...I feel this mix actually lacked reverb. *gasp* Well, maybe not reverb, but...it didn’t feel as full as I expected it to. It felt kinda flat - but only in the mixing, not the pitch, because the vocals nailed their parts! Everything pitch-wise sounded great to me, and all of your voices sounded amazing together! However, in moments I feel that there were a few parts that weren’t as energetic and sassy as they should’ve been. It was extremely patchy, and only in particular moments, so if the sass level had been a teeny bit more consistent, I would’ve loved it even more. My MVP for this collab is going to be DJ, simply because I have never seen another rapper do a Cheetah as well as she did. Great job to you and everyone else in this collab; I loved listening to it!

5 - I Feel You (Wonder Girls) - Team G [Alice, Janey, Min, Ebony, Jessica]

For a cast built of multiple different tones, you all sounded positively amazing together! You all compliment each other well, and as a team I think you did a remarkable job pulling this collab together. Ebony, you slayed me once again with that sexy tone of yours - it’s a shame you had so few lines! ; A ; Min, your tone was great too - it sounded very natural and flowy, and made your parts sound really polished and beautiful. I loved listening to them! I feel that, however, a few of you attempted to replicate the original tone a bit too much - Alice and Janey in particular. Janey’s parts, especially during the chorus, came off a bit nasally, and I could almost feel Alice straining to maintain that tone in particular parts. I feel your natural voices would’ve suited this a bit better, but you still did an amazing job! My MVP for this collab is Jessica, because I feel her rap captured the original energy the best! However, Min and Ebony get my honorable mentions because of how natural their parts sounded as well (: great job, ladies!

4 - Demonstrate (Rania) - Team B [Martha, Rika, Rae, Nicky, Megan]

This cover was honestly full of surprises for me - in a very good way! Whoever split this did an amazing job splitting parts, because everyone shined in the best way possible. I was instantly slayed by Rae, and I honestly wasn’t expecting to be slayed by Rika just as hard, but this turned out being one of my favorite collabs of hers! I feel like Megan in particular struggled a bit to fit this concept, but she did a great job on her parts as well and made sure her pitch and tone were consistent, so I give her a lot of credit for doing so! My only big flaw about this cover would be it’s lack of fullness - I don’t remember there being a lot of harms in the original, but I know there were doubles, and I could feel them missing. Otherwise, great collab, and I hope you won this battle! My MVP is Nicky, but Rika definitely gets this song’s honorable mention, as well as Martha!

3 - I Like That (SISTAR) - Nina, Livy, Kiro ft. Mark

I think this is the first cover I’ve ever listened to in Italian? Probably, considering how I’ve never even met anyone who can speak Italian to begin with lol. This song is already hard enough to sing...so this whole cover impresses me a lot <3 All of your tones fit this cover remarkably well, and the final result of this was to die for! My only complaint for this collab, which is one I had for another on this ranking...shouting. Especially at Kiro, I felt like a lot of those high notes had to have been shouted, because that’s the vibe that I felt through the microphone. Having a softer tone is okay too, and it would’ve fit this song nicely as well! Kiro’s rap was really good, though, and absolutely impressed me. My MVP for this collab is Nina because of how consistent she was; I personally thought her tone complimented this the best. Honorable mention to Livy though - I liked you just as much, but you did have a slight tendency to shout some of those higher notes as well. Overall, remarkable job with this cover! (Mark, your parts were great too <3)

2 - Destiny (Lovelyz) - Erin

If I could somehow bottle up my aesthetic and turn it into someone’s voice, it’d be yours. That sounds weird, but my point is...your voice has got to be one of the most pleasing voices I’ve ever listened to. It has a really nice calming effect, and fits this type of song perfectly. I’d cast you as Kei or Jin as a heartbeat. There were a few things I’d note, though- a few of your falsetto parts did sound a bit too delicate/soft, if that’s even possible. A few of the bg vocals and harms were a bit off too, I think, but all the stuff you made up fit the track remarkably well-- SPEAKING OF WHICH, THOSE ADLIBS AT THE END. HOLY CRAP SLAY ME. I WAS SLAYED. Overall, this was an extremely good cover and I’m now subscribed to you as a result...shame on me for not being subscribed beforehand…

1 - No Love (4Minute) - Farrah

Honestly, it was so hard deciding between this and Erin’s rendition of Destiny for this week’s #1 track, but I’m going to give it to this one simply because of how unique it is as a whole. It has such a beautiful flow; one of the best I’ve seen for an English rewrite cover, and I commend you greatly for that. I’m glad the instrumental wasn’t exactly like the original, because it definitely helped make it even more original and unique, while still giving the vibes of the original song. (P.S. Raprah should make more comebacks.) If I were to get really nitpicky, I’d say the instrumental was just a tad bit too loud for your vocals, and there were a few awkward parts in the rap in regards to the flow (your ‘antici-pating’ line, for example), but otherwise this cover was absolutely beautiful and totally your own! Congrats on such a great release!
