Whether it's a lodicakes ube mango cake roll 🍠🥭 or mass transit higad 🐛🚉 I call it anyway I want.

My take on the Megatren, or the LRTA 2000 class EMUs. PH trains that deserve more care on the mainline. Lack of proper maintenance had led to the trains running slower than 80 kph and even their purple and yellow colors wearing out.

For the trains to work at an optimized performance, they would need better rehabilitation and for the system, amendments must be made on the standards used, i.e., Line 2 is heavy rail and was designed as such from the choice of rolling stock to the rails and perhaps the superstructure. Because it was not extended on both sides west and east, the throughput or the demand it serves is much lower than the system can carry.

This is my first time drawing some protest art. Also, even if I had used Tumblr before, I'm not satisfied at that, for my art has barely progressed in repression, xd #cringedayz. Today, I don't really care if I see a cent of shit, as I will have a stance about it. And here we are. Lots of things had changed, 'no? (Even the pronouns are outdated; it is now they/them.)

Commute

A photoset featuring my first commute around the Metro since the ECQ happened. Again, just like my ride in the outside world a week ago, this felt weird. But even weirder since I rode public transportations.

I needed to go to Makati yesterday (Saturday). So coming from Manila, I rode the LRT (Carriedo Station) to EDSA. Then transferred to MRT EDSA station to Ayala Station. LRT ride went smoothly with social distancing being observed inside the train. Though, I’m not too confident as to how safe passengers are in the seating area because they are too close with just plastic dividers. On the other hand, MRT provided a better system in my opinion. Trains were sanitized at the EDSA-Taft station for about 5 minutes, so queue for it was quite long. And when you go in, 1 guard was assigned per train to implement social distancing.

Anyway, I don’t think I’ll be doing this again soon since it was pretty exhausting and hot because of the protective gears you need to wear. I can’t even imagine what would it be like on a weekday during work hours. I just wish for us to have better transportation in the future.
