couldn’t waterbenders technically bend blood because it carries water through the body and then freeze it. And the same with airbenders they could just bend blood that carries air molecules and pull it out of the veins rapturing the blood vessels.
Whenever I get hit with Ashe dynamite or Mauga and I burn, I wish someone in that game could extinguish fire like a firefighter. Damn, only we had a water bender in that game, wouldn't it be so awesome
With all the avatar stuff going around I couldn't help but draw lance as a waterbender. Is it cliche? Probably but he fits so well as a water bender. Also I enjoy sketching him. Please enjoy

WATERBENDER READER Who loves the feeling of silk. She didn't experience silk while living in the water tribes though— textures were always rough and hard.
Polar bear fur was coarse on the ouside, soft inside, but nothing like silk. Bones are delicate same as silk in a way, though still rough. Fresh snow was her second favorite of course. The way it'd fall apart in her hands, the softness, airy in some type of sense.
Silk would still be her favorite. How it glides along her fingers, slippery but not greasy. The coldness reminds her of the water tribe whenever away from it, feels like the water touching her finger tips. The shininess of silk, how she could almost see her hands through the silk. Just— perfection.
WATERBENDER READER Growing up was always told she controlled the ocean. Not in a dramatic way, not huge or anything like that. But— kinda in a sense.
The youngest waterbender there was, around 5 when she got it. Unlike other kids, who got their 'powers' around the ages of 8-12. It was always easy for her to control the water, it'd never really been a struggle.
Elders were so impressed, while other kids were envious of how much control she was of her powers she had so young. Her parents though? They'd both tell her how she had the voice of the ocean, she didn't really understand what they meant by it though.
WATERBENDER READER Loved the water tribes charms and beads growng up— usually the ones that were symbolic beads or charms. Not really because she knew the meaning of them. Rather because her father smiled whenever he noticed them.
Though she also just loved the blues and whites together on her curls. She'd always ask her mother to put them in her hair. Perhaps it was kinda like placing flowers into curls, even just pinning them onto her robes
WATERBENDER READER Normally used bows whenever allowed to hunt with her father. She loved to help, being more then just a typcial healer like her mother— which was super good at healing. But she wanted to be more then that.
Whenever given the opportunity to she would join them. They would use daggers, or swords perhaps. While she used a bow. Mostly because her dad was afraid of her getting close in combat alongside them, but she enjoyed using a bow.
WATERBENDER READER Would pick an animal over a human. Not only are animals spiritual messengers, for example, moon and ocean spirits take form as a koi fish. Alongside animals like whales or seals even, being symbolic to the tribes. But because, away from the spiritual and symbolic meanings— they mattered to her.
WATERBENDER READER Enjoyed looking up at the skies. She'd wake up super early in the morning— way before the elders woke for meetings, and way before healers woke up to prepare for hunters to wake up.
Climbing a somewhat small mountain for a few minutes, that overseed the sky perfectly. Just to see the sunrise. The way the whites and blues in the sky mixed alongside the orange and yellowness of the sun rising? God, it was worth waking up super early in the morning just to see.
WATERBENDER READER Has deep dark curls, type of curls that people were jealous of. Took alot of learning for her to figure out how to take care of it— on top of styling it. But her mother, taliuna, taught her how to. Still did take awhile but to be fair they had fun together. And thats what mattered the most.
WATERBENDER READER Who grew up in the cold, obviously, though the one thing about her is she always had cold hands. No matter the area, no matter the temperature of a room— she could be in the fire temple and her hands would be completely cold to the touch.
She couldn't explain it, but they were always freezing cold. To her they just felt like hands, but if someone held her hands? They'd immediately pull away due to the pure freezing coldness of them.
WATERBENDER READER Whos favorite days were the super duper snowy days. To be fair though, it always snowed since the water tribes lived in the snow mountains— but, some days were extra snowy.
Those days the kids would be so excited, running outside and playing around in the snow. At least 35 snow angels were made that day, bunches of snow balls made to throw at eachcother. Kids just enjoying life together.
WATERBENDER READER Who took longer than most to learn she could mistbend. It was definitely a common thing in the water tribes. Perhaps it was because they'd usually run away in the face of super bad combat that they weren't gonna win from.
Mistbending was used from the water in the air, water that enemies who weren't water benders wouldn't know are there— it's invisible all around, unless you know it's there.
Anyways, she alongside other waterbenders take that water, and since it's so small it's able to tun into fog. Giving water benders something to hide behind, for illusions that helped with stealth.
WATERBENDER READER Who didn't hate, but definitely disliked being the princess of the water tribe. It genuinely was not for the weak— high expectations were put on her since she was the princess. Daughter of the chief, daughter of the tribes best healer.
It always felt exhausting, trying to figure out what people wanted out of her. Be a hunter or be a healer, but be good at both, but not to good. Like damn what can a girl even do at that point.
WATERBENDER READER Who ironically would get sea sick so easily. People laughed at her for it, to quote— 'how does one of the most powerful waterbenders get sea sick.' Which honestly? She didn't have a reasoning for because it really is ironic.
How can she be such a strong and fast learning waterbender, to than get sea sick easily?? That's just a crazy nerf to have.
WATERBENDER READER Who had a connection to the moon. It wasn't necessarily crazy or noticeable at first, she'd just have vivid dreams about the moon when she was around the age of 8-10. Though to be fair, some dreams were clear as day, some she just couldn't understand.
On top of the fact sometimes she just couldn't sleep. Those nights she'd look at the moon and notice it was brighter then before— eventually chopping it down to the moon giving her to much energy, leading to sleepless nights
WATERBENDER READER Whos signature move was something called spiral waves. It might sound confusing, but basically it was a shield of sorts, whenever she conquered up enough water— and had enough energy if necessary she's able to form spiral waves.
They'd wrap and move around her or her and whoever is next to her. Any bows or draggers, or really anything thrown at the spiral waves were consumed by the water and thrown off to the side.
WATERBENDER READER Who's instrument of sorts, was vocal chanting. Not necessarily an instrument she'd say. Nothing like the drums that'd play during celebrations, feasts or dances— or perhaps horns, alongside the addition of flutes and shakers. But rather, more unique to most people, including her.
It's a very special talent to be able to do. Not that someone vocal chanting wasn't common, more that it's a harder skill to master. The drums or horns were easier to do, having a knowing of what she's meant to do.
While vocal chanting was something she had to figure out herself, to master is to learn they'd say.
WATERBENDER READER Who absolutely sucked at pressure bending early on. She hated pressure bending, not because it was inherently hard— rather that she'd have to use alot of energy to effectively use.
Pressure bending is used by controlling big amounts of water, from oceans or lakes, the pressure from the water is able to be used for healing or rarely combat. Rarely, not because it's bad for combat, just that it's used to heal others more or less.
WATERBENDER READER Who was surprised to find out she has a koi fish spiritual animal. It's extremely rare for people to get an animal that showed themselves. Yes everyone has an animal to them, but thats more like copies of each animal, while animals that revealed were individually designed.
If someone was given an individual animal, they'd only know after something rather.. let's say traumatic happens. In this case, her animal was shown after her mother died.
The momment it happened she saw a koi fish, not a small one, but rather a beautiful huge but ovalish shaped koi fish wrap around her while she cried over her mothers body. But that's a story for another time.
WATERBENDER READER Kept the necklaces of whales from her mothers neck. She'd saw the necklaces shinning from the fires burning around the tribe, remembering what her mother told her when she was just a little kid.
'If I ever die, these' her mother pointed to the necklaces she was wearing. 'belong to you.'
'you won't ever die mommy! You'll live foreverr and everrr and eve....–' the words slowly faded out of her ears, reaching down to grab the 3 necklaces. One of an actual whale, another of the tribe symbols, and the last one? A whales eye— a craved shape and designs of a whales eye of course.
