Anddd here are 10 facts about Yuuichi

1. Their closest friends are first years, the second closest is Silver, then Idia and then Kalim

2. Yuu is the only child, but he always wanted siblings so he likes to think of Ortho and Silver as his younger and big brothers accordingly, Silver gave him big bro energy because of his interactions with Sebek

3. Their favourite dorm is Octavinelle because of marine theme

4. The red strands on his hair are the result of heartshakle's first mistake on potionology class, Yuuichi loves it and thinks it makes him look like a real shrimp

5. He didn't have many friends in his world because he felt disconnected and weird(he's autistic) but they feel more like they belong in nrc even though they're magicless

6. They're into fandoms, and when they arrived in twisted wonderland they started consuming media like crazy because they want to hyperfixate on something

7. His favourite food is seafood

8. They were most afraid of Azul's overblot, because they thought it could drown him if the breathing potion wears out

9. He can't swim that's why he's afraid of deep waters, and the whole book 3 and that part of book 4 when they had to swim was hell for him

10. They ground themselves by touch and Ace is their most comfortable person to cling to

The other types of dates I think they'd go on but didn't write situations to

1. Karaoke dates ik they canonically go to karaoke with first years but when it's just the two of them they choose the corniest romantic songs, preferably even duets and sing them dramatically

2. Amusement park dates, oh Ace loves amusement parks especially some extreme attraction that make u scream from fear and excitement, well Yuu loves them too so they match in their excitement when they go on such dates

3. Cinema dates, watching movies in Ramshackle has its charm ofc but the classical romance of sharing one bucket of popcorn and holding hands under the seats is something both of them like to do sometimes

4. Concert dates, Ace would definitely rant about his favourite media to Yuu and music isn't the exception, so when he gets tickets to concerts of his favourite bands he drags Yuu with him

About his family, his parents are divorced, he lived with his father but he was usually busy and when he wasn't busy they usually didn't interact much outside of asking how their day went for politeness, but Yuuichi also always felt like his father loves them but doesn't like them as a person. Regarding his mother, Yuuichi hadn't seen her often, she moved away after divorce and came to visit him only on some holidays or occasionally, well Yuuichi in his teenage years stopped caring much about that, and while he tried to make friends, he mostly had lots of acquaintances and not people he felt understood with

As for his lack of genuine connections, I feel like Yuuichi is a bit emotionally unavailable, because while he can strike a conversation with anyone, he rarely tells them a lot about his inner feelings and he mostly kept some things about his life in secret even from Ace until some point, like I think he just never stopped and thought about the ugly aspects of his life or acknowledged them

About his relationship with Ace

First impression was not the best because Ace fumbled, Yuu just thought he was a typical bully, then they warmed up a bit and started thinking of Ace as of someone nice to hangout with

The breaking point is book 4 , that's where Yuu changes his attitude towards both of adeuce, because like they came to save him, they're now something constant in his life and they won't leave when it's inconvenient, so Yuuichi lets them in more, thinking of them as friends. And as more moments show how much Ace cares, Yuu opens up more and treats him as best friend

I think the point where confession happens is after book 7 because yk Ace's dream, it sounds logical to me that after that their restraints crumble and they finally confess to eachother

Now Yuuichi needs some time to get used to the fact that Ace is now constanta in his life and that he actually wants to know everything about Yuuichi, it scares Yuu a bit, because no one ever was so invested in his life. And I think there would few times where Ace would be hurt because Yuu keeps things from him. But I also believe he'd confront Yuu straight about it and they'd have some talks about that where Yuu would open up about his feelings about being neglected in past more, I think Ace would start inserting himself in Yuu's life even more after that

I hate Wreck it Ralph 2 but Silver is literally the embodiment of the Princess scene.

He does have magic hair (sunlight blonde turned moonlight silver)

Animals talk to him (his animal magnetism)

And he literally encourages Idia to sing by looking at water 😭😭
