Omg if Mansur is a Halloween event villain-esque character then that means he could belong to the Ramshackle group with the other event villains (Rollo, Fellow/Gidel, Skully, Swing). I’m laughing just thinking about the potential hypothetical dynamics and that’s before I know more about him! 😂
Yes exactly! We don't know exactly what he'd get up to if he ever got to stay over at Ramshackle in a nebulous hypothetical, but hopefully that'll be clearer as we write him more! :)
Thank you by the way 🥺💜 Time to talk about Zuri a bit. Sorry it took so long, for some reason I just drew a blank at the time.
Her relationship to Nyoka is very close, despite appearances. As a result of having grown up together since childhood, she understands him better than anyone, all without him really having to speak or say so. Probably more than his own parents do. She is fiercely loyal to Nyoka specifically, and does not wish to see him in any pain or sadness. When he returns home from breaks, Zuri is the first person to greet him before re-acclimating.
Her naturally soothing aura can make those around her feel very calm.
Zuri was found as a young starving child by Nyoka and somehow found her way into the Wadjet estates cobra gardens, bitten by several cobras but not affected by the venom at all, having apparently manifested her signature spell/unique magic. She had no family nor any memories of her prior life and was permitted by the previous Wadjet family head to live on property until she was quote “well enough” to leave (which could have meant anything). In the meantime, she was permitted schooling and magic studies alongside Nyoka before their roles began to diverge a bit more within the home, as it so often does when one is a noble heir and the other is just some orphan. Like many young girls in Sunset Savanna, she admired the strong, capable women around her and sought to emulate them.
She currently works as a servant within the Wadjet house, choosing to remain there as a way to repay the mercy the family granted her when they had no reason to do so. Though, to some degree the process of becoming a servant was gradually introduced into her routine over the years. She does not have any strong desire to leave and is content with her life. Her main role however is to be Nyoka’s personal guard. Her innate magical prowess is rather low compared to Nyoka or any of the mages in arcane academies, but her immunity to vemon/poisons and sharp combat skills make up for it. If she participated in the bead-brawl, she would have won. There is a reason she is Nyoka’s only personal guard, he does not need anyone else.
Zuri is very calm and reserved. She hardly ever speaks loudly, or much at all. She is naturally pretty withdrawn and imperturbable, and chooses to stay in the back until she is needed, and will not make eye contact with most people should she be approached. Although, she will act on instinct if need be. She is very perceptive of the feelings of others and can read intent very easily, making her rather hard if not impossible to deceive. She is well-liked amongst the other servants within the Wadjet home, whereas Nyoka’s parents are rather ambivalent. Mind, this is typical of the noble cobra beastfolk, not being keen on outsiders.
She laments the fact she was unable to follow Nyoka to Night Raven College, but despite that still willingly carries on with her schedule back home as if nothing has changed. She knows he can be very particular, and feels better taking care of his personal belongings (such as his various tableware and teacup collections) by keeping them pristine, and change out the linens periodically so he will not have to stress in the moments he does return home. It’s her way of showing courtesies, even if he never asks for it. She sometimes sends “care-packages” of things she thinks he needs while living abroad. They were more frequent during his first year.
Zuri does not leave the Wadjet home much, as most of her duties are domestic in nature. She feels she does not fit in very well with wider society and other “regular” humans. She is very weary and distrustful of outsiders, even if it doesn’t show on her face. She prefers her smaller bubble of routine and security, and wants the same for those she cares about. She claims it breaks her heart to see any sadness, anger or pain. She will do whatever she can to prevent or placate such feelings.
Much like the cobra beastfolk she lives with, she does not show overt expressions on her face, though this is due to her calm demeanor more than real habit.
She is based off of the tuliza flower from The Lion Guard, which in that series was used to soothe the pain of the scar caused by Ushari’s venom. It seemed appropriate to have that type of setup when Nyoka is based off of Ushari. :3

Yeah! When Cozy and I created Mansur, we wanted him to be an actual villain akin to the guest characters during Halloween events! We had ideas but hadn't yet come up with anything solid until we were chatting on a call at night and started brainstorming, then 3 hours later at around midnight to 1am, we had an entire outline!
I'm currently working on making that outline an actual multi-chapter event story and it's coming along decently!
We probably won't start posting until it's mostly finished and I've been working through the set-up details in the meantime, but I can post a wip!
I don't have a timeframe of when it'll start getting released but it'll get there regardless!

Also, Silver Psychological Horror? BRUH. You had my curiosity, now you have my attention 👀 I read a fic a long time ago with this premise and it was great! (If you’re curious it was a Nightmare on Elm Street crossover where Freddy Krueger was in Silver’s dreams)
Dunno what it says about me that I enjoy seeing one of my top favorite twst characters go through the wringer 😂
The redacted person is plans for another character between me and cozy no names can be given rn and it'll probably take a bit to figure out more concrete characterization, but I can show you some eyes 👀

As for the horror fic, my angle is that Silver is now an actual knight working at black scale castle and it's not as nice as he thought it'd be.
The other faes are mean to him, the miasma makes him feel sick and cold if he's outside too long, and suddenly he starts hearing voices too which leads to him questioning whether they're coming from someone else (although he can't see them) or his own mind,
I'm not sure if I can truly make it scary. If I can accomplish foreboding I think I'd be really happy!
I'm sure ya'll familiar with briar valley lore and Disney's sleeping beauty probably know my angle. It's too perfect of a concept not to write something about! :D I hope I can finish it someday

Sadly enough, it’s why I ultimately left the twst fandom and kept to myself because it became a culture of “if you don’t agree with my headcanon then you get concrete shoes and into the ocean you go” amongst other very rancid things.

It's frustrating because in the real world (and also this is how it worked in academia too, but also work related) when you discuss your thoughts, you have an expectation that who you're speaking to will be able to understand you, and if they don't or they have an opposing opinion, they'd be willing to discuss stuff with you, but it's just not like that.
It's not like that in real life, in stuff that matters and it's slipping into stuff that's supposed to be fun.
There are people who genuinely consume only fanon and shipping stuff and will get actually mad if you just talk about the story as its progressing/accepting new info as its impossible to understand the full picture until it is shown to you. They will hate you for not having the same exact opinion as them over a story or character, even though different opinions just are a fact of life (and keep in mind I say opinion on fictional story, not politics/human rights)
Overall I've been fine with twst fandom given my other fandom experiences. It's not the worst, and I'm not going to bad faith read anyone even after this. But I will be avoiding the very specific topics/fanon/characters/ships that these people kill others over.
It sucks being purposefully misunderstood. As a neurodivergent person, it happened to me growing up a lot and it still does. I'm not perfect and making mistakes does frustrate me and cause me a lot of issues with reocd, but I'm pretty confident I've never done anything actually morally reprehensible in a fandom space. Or at least I don't think I did 💀
But you can't make people understand you when they do not want to understand you. They just want to interpret everyone who doesn't agree with them as bad and they don't want to grow up.
If I shied away from talking about twst book 8 and theories and characters just because these people thought they could highschool bully me out of just speaking then they'd win. Trying to scare and shame people out of spaces that are supposed to be fun is stupid.
Writing and twst are fun for me and a good break from irl so I'm just gonna be here until I'm done lmao

I would love the Day Fae/Aurora dorm housewarden to be as good as the other RSA housewardens are, but him being a bit villainous like NRC would also be really fun. Merryweather was always ready to throw hands with Maleficent and did turn Diablo to stone
I'll admit I had mixed feelings on wish pieces at first. Seems a lot to introduce an object that can do anything, even undo death, which can lower stakes. BUT honestly I'm willing to give it a chance and see where the story takes it, and I have some inklings of ideas and questions already,
Like I wonder what Silver's life will be like now that his wish piece is gone. Theoretically it should be better since it was probably the reason his sleep spell stuck with him so long, but it also kept him safe and alive for 400 years. Is he more vulnerable now with no protection?
If wish pieces can do good things, can they do bad things too? Blessings and Curses are described as the same thing in twst so wish pieces could possibly do both which would be cool to see. Need some more classic curses. I hope something interesting happens 🙏🏻
My friend cozy completed Pip's design in late August, and in an unreleased Disney Enchanted Tales, Phillip's birthday was going to be revealed as August 18th- so it was the perfect date to make Pip's birthday and creation day
That's right, she's not even a year old yet, yet I found her character so fun to write from the start. I really have enjoyed writing fics about her and playing around with Sleeping Beauty vibes and stuff I'd want to see in twst. With my work and another project that's secret right now, I've had trouble thinking of what I want to finish writing for August 18th, so for those interested I'm making a poll!
