this may or may not be a part of the Cadet Bolin AU stuff, i haven’t decided yet. it really depends on how much time i have to get into the story, but yeah. i was talking to Madi about this concept where a metalbender loses their arms and learns how to bend metal ones as an extension of them. this kind of thing, in my mind, would take a lot of control and weaken earthbending ability/full form martial arts, since a lot of energy would be directed into the arms to make them move.

anyway- we got to talking and the idea formed that this happens to Lin in the AU (who else but a Beifong would figure this out?)… i’m not going to go into how she loses her arms, just in case i use the idea :> but once Lin recovers, she and Asami design this up together. the sketch on the left is Lin getting her fitting, before the attachments are added. to the right is after, with the upgrade for her metal chords (so she can still be SpiderLin haha)

i suppose on her back should be another attachment for cables (like on her uniform) but i haven’t drawn it yet eheh;
