Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ( art dump part 2/4 )
Here are some very early development artwork for Spider-Verse. Many of there paintings were done to develop the look of the film, the way things were broken up, abstract brush strokes, naturalistic light, etc. It’s nice to see many of these elements were kept and translated into the final film. You can see the changes stylistically especially in the set I design for Mile’s parents home here compare to my part 1 post~

Photographer Christy Lee Rogers produces luminous scenes of swirling figures swathed in colorful fabrics. She creates a painterly quality in her large-scale images not by using wet pigments, but rather by completely submerging her subjects in illuminated water and photographing them at night.
