(Turns out you can find corvette wrecks in a regular game. I've been using a settlement's tower to find anomalies lately and one of the things I found was this wreck. Of course it was the least appealing color of fart cloud space gas to find. But at least I know for sure it's possible to still find them!

I'm pretty sure the settlement towers just reuse anomaly beacon encounters/code. So it's possible to find the wrecks through them too. Probably.)
