#such a simple answer #elijah was kind to her #(no one has ever accused klaus of being kind) #I like how klaus asks her #both he and rebekah have sort of been letting a whole of of comments about elijah slide #hayley calling him the good brother and reading his old diaries #they didn’t comment before but now klaus wants to know #if only because it’s starting to bother him just a little bit that the woman carrying his child #is already so attached to his brother #and it’s hardly the first time people end up liking elijah more than him #he knows why he would say elijah is better than him #but why does hayley like him? #she hardly knows elijah #they barely spent a day together before klaus daggered his brother and told her he’d left #hayley probably went most of the summer quietly resenting elijah or herself for ever buying his epic promises of protection and family #but now that she knows elijah was only gone because of klaus she wants him back almost as much as them #why? #because he was kind #because he told her she was family and while she didn’t immediately believe him he gave her hope #that maybe this whole thing wouldn’t be all that terrible even if she’d never have picked klaus to have a child with #I kind of like this dynamic in the first few episodes with this family that has centuries of history #and then there’s this girl who wants elijah back as well even though she hardly knows him (via @icebluecyanide)
