Demeter has a habit of doting on Persephone, especially now that she is gone for half the year. So, during the winter (because it is in Demeter's nature) she tends to dote on Korus to distract her. Sometimes he thinks it's simply because he looks so much like his twin, she does it because she misses her daughter. Either way, he hasn't decided if he loves it or hates it.

She smiled, patting his arm. “Already? Didn’t I just buy you some new ones three mouths ago?”

"You did, and your reckless son Iacchus tore two of them. Besides---if you wish, you can chose any colour and I will make splendid new robes for you."

     When the elder godling came and laid next to him, the younger sat up and shifted his attention from the clouds to his brother. “Oh” he replied. “I went here.” For the time being he had nothing more to say on the matter. And after a moment the young ecstasy god again laid down in the grass again, his attention still fixed on Korus.

      Sometimes Korus wondered if Mama and Ichi didn't like each other--they didn't hug as much as Mama hugged Persephone. And when Persephone picked flowers in the fields by herself, Mama hugged Korus---probably because he looked so much like her, because he, too was sweet and silent instead of wild and free. Of course, Demeter and Iacchus did not hate each other, but Korus was a child. He didn't know better.             "We could stay here longer. I don't have to tell Mama I found you, yet."

     The onset of manic states had been taking greater hold of Iacchus as of late and so the young god ran out into the meadows so that they might soothe him. His need to run wild propelled him till the high subsided into a low. It was then at this sharp and sudden change in his mood that the godling simply dropped to the ground — void of the the will to move. Someone would come looking for him eventually.

        His brother always got like this sometimes, wandering off and getting lost in the forests. Of course, Persephone was always glued to their mother's hip so it was usually Korus that ended up looking for him. He finds him in the grass and lays down beside him, trying to look at whatever has Iacchus' attention. " Mama asked where you went, Ichi."

“Marriage does change some people. Don’t be mad at yourself or her, it’s most likely my fault she’s like this.” Demeter sighed, running a hands through her hair. “Let’s just enjoy this day, my son.”

"I didn't end up like that." Korus pointed out. "Fine, I'll enjoy it. Are you going to buy me silks? I need more."

❁ Headcanon ❁

Korus vowed never to marry after Persephone was given away. Call him spiteful, but like Demeter his view on the marriage was not based on reason but very stubborn love. He was very upset with his father and attempted to plead with him, but Zeus would hear none of it. If Zeus would dishonor his mother in such a way, Korus in turn scorned his wife by declaring he would never marry, something Apollo also did.

“Try not to be too offended. Athena gets a visit before me and I carried and birthed her.”

"This is why I will never marry." Korus declared. "Once you're espoused, you can't play favorites. Or maybe your favorites change--I don't know."

“Kore decided to spend some time with Hermes. She claims it’s been awhile sense they had. She should be home tonight, dear.”

[korxs]

"Since when does Hermes get a visit before I do? I'm a little offended." Korus muttered. "We only shared a womb."

“If you don’t mind carrying some of my things." With a smile she reserved only for her children, she slipped her arm through his.

"I will. Have you seen Persephone? She hasn't spoken to me and it's almost fall...I don't want her to leave without seeing me."

“My lovely boy, come here. I was just about to head into the nearby town.”

" Do you mind if I come with you, mother? "
