Today I sold my pattern!
Having thread tension issues this morning that are testing my perseverance.
5 posts!
I was able to get my Kotten Bellies Basic Doll Pattern uploaded to Etsy last night (11:12pm!) and was trying not to let the fact that my finished photos were less than enticing. My struggle with trying to control everything and be perfect is what allowed me to just post them as they were. It was more important to me to have something uploaded than it was to have it perfect.
In the light of a new day, however, I see that I need to retake the photos and republish the pattern. For now I am content with the fact that I have set and attained a goal.
As I sit here and edit photo after photo for my very first doll pattern I am struck by how much I have let perfection stop me from moving forward with so many things. I have had this pattern designed for over 6 months and I have had one excuse after another as to why it's "not ready". Today I made up my mind that it IS ready and if it's not perfect then I can always change it later. If I get feedback from buyers about what could be better than I can update the file but I refuse to let perfection hold me back any longer.

You just have to get up one more time than you fall.
Listening to Joe Vitale this morning and this really hit home.
Began photography for my pattern instructions but my sewing machine wasn't cooperating with the plan. We will regroup, change the sewing machine needle, and try again.
By the end of 2014 it is my goal to earn my living through passive income streams created with my dolls and other art. I am using this Tumblr page to document the process.
