This character’s name is Muteba Gizenga, by the way. In Japanese Comics (and indeed every other story telling media from any country at all) the only reason to include Somalian characters is to reference Somalian civil unrest and pirates.
But at least his design and backstory’s interesting. He’s not a pirate, but a militant, he can fight while blind, and he’s got neat tattoos.
(He might not be Somalian, actually, the Vietnamese translation isn’t clear on that. He might be Eritrean)
