dew couldn’t forget the lights . a triad of brightness that made her body shudder , but made her YEARN to stare deep into it’s glow and find what it was hiding . the woman only finding despair . body having gone numb once it’s coldness disguised as warmth chilled her veins with pure , RAVAGING fear . ever since then nightmares , brutal and too real to feel like a mirage her brain had created keeping her awake at night . shadows of a mask and a pain in her neck following her even when she was conscious . dew gulped , feeling that pain now but she made no correlation . what happened was weird… but simple lights will not be the cause of her stresses . her best friend was attacked . her relationship was back on it’s rocky trail . and she was being more reckless than ever . that was the cause— it had to be .
dew in denial and anguish as fear raked through her body , but she refused to let it show . the way people were acting suddenly… there was no judgment from her but she would not let herself follow . looking up , she came to scene that she’s experienced often as a bartender . rude customers , PUSHY and unforgiving . dew steading her hands as she stood up and pushed herself between them and the worker . with a stare stern and glaring she was able to get them to back off . eyes then softening as she turned towards the other then down at his hands . oh , alexander…. dew felt her insides churn . she already knew about his disappearance . their shared boss making her aware she’d have to cover his shifts until he returned . ‘ you know alex ? ’ she refused to say knew… dew longing for his safe return . ‘ i’m a friend of his… i– i work with him at the bar . ’
it was as if the world around him had stopped; and yet somehow still managed to feel oh so loud, loud and unforgiving. his mouth felt dry, his feet glued to the place he so commonly occupied. his gaze didn’t leave the paper as the woman’s voice reached him, it stayed there, locked upon alexander’s face for several moments longer before he could finally bring himself to look away; to see the world around him as it currently was; busy, and yet... e m p t y. “--- yeah... yeah, i know alex...” his voice didn’t sound like his, it felt distant and unfamiliar. what was happening to him? he answered her directly, and yet he felt so unsure about every word that passed his lips. were those lights he had seen playing a part in this? were they the reason alexander was missing, and why a HEAVY sense of dread filled him? the images that had come to him that evening were h a u n t i n g, they showed people he swore he didn’t know and yet somehow felt a strangely strong connection to. alexander was amongst those people, the only one he even remotely knew, and yet all of them... all of them were d e a d. “--- where could he be?”
