I still come across discussions about the ending of Twenty Five Twenty One quite a bit, and recently I’ve seen some comments suggesting that people who disagreed or disliked the ending just lack the age and experience to appreciate it.

I disagree with this sentiment. I feel like as a society, there’s sometimes a tendency to mistake cynicism for wisdom. In my experience, “realistic” endings in media are largely negative and depressing, but reality isn’t always so bleak, and our actions and efforts do matter and can make a difference in light of our circumstances.

i started on a new lovely drama and i still thought about 2521 ;-; i'm actually rewatching mid watching the other drama... when will i ever move on

Ugh I totally feel you, anon. 2521 destroyed me 😭 I’ve never connected to a drama so much and can’t imagine another one making me feel so many things again. Baekdo was everything and they deserved their happy ending.

I think what killed me the most are all the chances they had to reconcile. Under the cherry blossoms, after the 2009 interview, at/after the funeral, after Heedo got her diary back, at the tunnel in present day, after Yijin answered the password security question even! It seemed like fate wanted to bring them back together, so it was so cruel it didn’t happen.

I still truly believe the Heedo and Yijin we knew from episodes 1-14 would’ve taken one of those chances and worked it out/rekindled their beautiful love. That’s how I try to comfort myself at least, but it def still hurts 💔

I love how Mr. Gu and Mijeong turned out to be such an adorable and sweet couple. Like the set up really had me thinking they were going to be dark and angsty af, but they’re out here giggling and flirting like schoolgirls after being reunited. I’m so here for it.

This was the Yeom parents’ episode. I was prepared to come on here and talk about the funny scenes, the car race, mama Yeom being the least subtle person on earth. How precious it was to see both of the parents truly smile. Then the ending happened, and I was left as shocked as Mr. Gu despite the warning signs. Poor mama Yeom, how heartbreaking.
