        SHE’D PRACTICALLY DEMANDED   he spend time with her this time around, beyond tired of taking no for an answer. mila would’ve had to have been blind not to notice the changes in him recently, the way there was less pride after each competition and more exhaustion. she’s not sure how to fix this - she’s only seventeen, barely even sure how to handle her own emotions, but viktor had always been a friend, a brother. she would always do her best to bring him comfort, even if it was received begrudgingly.        IT’S WITH A   childish determination that she shows up at his door, a bundle of movies and a box of just-bought pastila in hand. she’s all smiles and loud words, hoping to fill the empty space of his apartment. it’s with a familial ease that she can make herself at home on the couch next to him, eventually being able to hope maybe, just maybe, this would do some helping. she doesn’t know how to talk to him about it, she doesn’t have a backup plan. it’s this, or hope.        PREOCCUPIED WITH WATCHING   the movie and affectionately petting makkachin, she’d hardly noticed viktor starting to fall asleep. but when a head of silver hair lands softly on her shoulder, it almost has mila feeling worse. she doesn’t know the last time she saw him look so relaxed, and that notion alone is enough to make her nauseous. how long had she neglected to help him ?
