Thermal Expansion
Thermal Expansion is really interesting for me simply due to the fact that it’s used on a day to day basis when designing many things. As we all know, the linear expansion of an object is due to the change in temperature, it’s coefficient of linear expansion, and its original length. Things like rubber tires, metal frames, heating pipes, bridges, car engines, and even power lines. If anyone has noticed, on really hot days, power lines are more droopy than they are on cold days.

Today in class, we had a short discussion about Pascal’s Principle. Mr. Love demonstrated it by using a 2-Ton hydraulic jack. Pascal’s Principle states that of an external pressure is applied to a confined fluid, the pressure at every point within the fluid increases by that amount. Pout=Pin. For example, in the 2-Ton hydraulic jack, a small input force is used to exert a large output force by making the second area larger than the first.
Homework
Homework took a while to do. I did OK the first time through, but then i worked through each question that I got wrong, until I fully understood the right answer, and then resubmitted the homework. My notebook lost many of it pages today, but I feel pretty accomplished right now haha

I didn’t understand the daily problem today, and I tried to think about what I should’ve done, but I still don’t know what I did wrong. I was pretty confused throughout it.
