This portfolio represents my work across Summer of 2018 – present while working for Fjord Design & Innovation which was acquired by Accenture Interactive Consulting in 2014. This role is based in innovation strategic design for the federal government combining creative design thinking with delivering technology capabilities to solve complex problems. In each of these roles Stephanie was a leader in implementing Human-Centered Design methods (including Service Design, User Experience Design UX, Customer Experience Design CX, and Design Thinking) tools and methodologies into the work she was producing. Weather it was applying human criteria to emerging technology initiatives or owning the development of new products and services, her focus is on improving the experience of the customer by putting their needs and desires first. This people-centric approach ensures a higher adoption of the created outcomes. 

The methodology begins by developing a deep understanding of the Guest, customer, or end-user through contextual research and understanding analytics. Next the team co-creates ideas with the customer and collaborate to uncover new ways of approaching ideation. Once these ideas are collected the designer use these insights to inspire creative solutions. Finally the team will map out the customer and service provider journey to make sure everything we do is feasible and technically sound, including a roadmap for follow-up feature release and improvements.

I began this crazy ride 14 years ago when I began photographing and realized I could get paid for it. However, my true career began at a little daily newspaper in rural Ohio. There I found my tribe of photojournalists, sought mentors, and developed a style and true understanding of the art of traditional visual storytelling. I really learned what it meant to tell a story through a picture and how to cultivate emotional responses from viewers through composition, lighting, and most importantly, emotion.

Pitch! An Opportunity Platform

Using trends research to create wireframes in the development of interactive mobile technology in order to provide the next phase of social media networking.

For professionals who are looking to create global connections by networking within existing affiliations in order to find more personal and immediate correspondence leading to new business opportunities or career advancement. We do this by creating a hybrid platform that combines GPS technologies with a real-time interface facilitating legitimate face-to-face interactions. Unlike other professional networking websites, Pitch provides an immediate, authentic, and mobile experience.

Facilitating Creative Thinking

Advanced coursework that provides students practical experience in leading clients through creative problem solving workshops.

Role: Facilitator, Workshop Development, Writer/Editor, Design Researcher, 

Facilitating Creative Thinking classwork created a challenge for us to learn, apply,  and co-create with a real client. During this quarter we used the synectics process to develop a workshop that would assist our client to discover problems, realize opportunities, and create solutions. Learning these techniques helped broaden our approach to design thinking and realize the practical application of these processes to turn real business problems into opportunity solutions.

Ethnography is the scientific study and recording of human culture and customs.

This course was designed to encourage the practice of ethnographic research techniques such as observations, surveys, interviews, and shadowing. Designers are taught to apply this data to the knowledge of human factors in order to create products and processes that help make human life more fun, efficient, and enjoyable.

<404 Communication Error>: The Drive Thru

Provide a solution and identify problems within the drive­ thru market and develop a strategic plan that integrates current and innovative designs into a unified system.

Role: Project Leader, System Design & Ideation, Writer/Editor, Design Researcher

Our task was to identify the crucial factors in the drive-thru system where users experience an initial negative reaction.  We will analyze complications that occur during continued attendance of the same or similar drive-thru systems. Our team will consider cultural, technological, social, and socio-economical data while conducting this research. Using experiential observation, interpersonal interviews, online surveys, and secondary research will allow us to use design to solve gaps in the current process.
