bout to buy these and then time how long the keys are appearing on the side of my screen
my bet is 15 minutes and 30 seconds
yknow what's really funny? when i started this krewe/blog i was thinking about maybe going back to school and really liked space so I decided it would be an astrophysics krewe

imo a discord server should be like a breakout room for fandom. like the place to run your wips by your besties or discuss your otp in more detail with a few people who were insane about it on your post or organise events with a handful of trusted mutuals etc etc. if it’s where ALL the fandom activity is going to happen it will inevitably foster a cliquey environment where the fandom is divided into “those in the server” and “those who aren’t”, lurking is disincentivised if not made outright impossible, people who feel uncomfortable joining in conversations and would rather interact with fandom through reblogging etc are largely excluded because there’s no repost mechanism, and the fandom itself becomes an enclosed space so new fans are limited in how much content and meta they can access without having to make the plunge into Joining The In Group, there’s limited scope for interaction between different communities within the same fandom, god it’s just an altogether dogshit stupid idea. what if we moved all fandom activity to really massive private groupchats. Legendary Backpack Preview: Orrax Manifested | Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds
From the youtube description:
Take a peek at the brand-new legendary backpack coming to Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™ on June 3, 2025, Orrax Manifested! An immortal shadowy demonic presence from the Mists, Orrax is here to be your new best friend! Go on adventures! Glide around! Find some tasty snacks! Make a bargain for your immortal soul! Swish a fancy new tail that you may not have had a few moments before! Orrax will join you on all of your adventures, just as soon as you finish letting it manifest through you into Tyria. Like previous legendary backpacks, crafting Orrax Manifested will unlock a matching glider as well. However, this time, Orrax is not content simply staying on your back and manifests directly to better help you conquer the skies of this fascinating world. And both the backpack and the glider can be dyed!
meeting people you see on tumblr in gw2 is like seeing a celebrity

I went to this spot to get my screens of Ouiima, and honestly, it's a really nice little spot that's easy to miss. Especially for folks with asura characters!
This is from the Muridian Waypoint [&BEcAAAA=] in Metrica Province.
i desperately wish gw2 had more food-centric lore. i think about asura food more than is probably particularly reasonable. they're sort of implied to like molecular gastronomy in the lvl500 chef quests which is fitting and makes sense, but surely not every asura is eating bespoke Pea Spheres day in and day out right? i think my favorite angle on them is a sort of 50s-80s american-esque food style where there's a huge emphasis on things being Convenient and Scientific, so you'd get a lot of absolute slop tv dinners and canned items that have labels boasting how they were nutritionally fortified and contained your day's complete vitamin intakes and so on. a lot of jellied things. i do also fully believe they would have + eat soylent.
I still vibe really hard with "traditional" asuran cooking relying heavily on insects, fish, small vertebrates like lizards and the like, and various forms of fungi and root vegetables. Mixing that with the convenience era would be interesting, too. Cricket powder to add protein to drinks, using agar agar as the basis for the gelatin they make, etc.
You'd also get a LOT of fast cooking street food, especially near the colleges and dorms and set up around major krewe labs, and I'll guarantee asura pioneered fast food restaurants. And with mounts, they can even add drive-thrus now! Ultimate convenience.
the best ones are the ones that have prizes inside of temporary tattoos of the college logos!* (*inquest logo tattoos now available in packages manufactured after 98th of the phoenix 1326AE after pushes from inquest lobbyists who were concerned that excluding the inquest from progeny-catered products and items such as 'progeny cuisine' suggests a bias against the inquest, reinforcing the notion that the inquest is not a 'viable career pathway' to young progeny and thus damaging the integrity and legacy of the meta-krewe brand.)
i like these ideas a lot. imagine the little science toys you might get out of different packages (I'm thinking about Curiosity box etc.) or the "collect 5000 coupons and receive a year's supply of cricket powder!"
I was thinking about this post again and man, how did I not see the fine print on the art the first time that says "maximally processed, many artificial ingredients?" Top tier content.
Also I was so excited about molecule bento boxes, haha
*distant whispers to sylvari in the maguuma jungle* hey pick me up a häagen-dazs since you’re already out
and a latte, please
make that two, please, but extra hot while you’re at it.
don’t you both have your own minions for this, for crying out loud?

GW2CC Attack for @bop-y!!! Riyaew / Riya
Fuck it. I don't care if anyone else said this. I love how asura bounce when they jump or when they stop running.
I love when they run sideways and stops and go
Peak character design.
You're all so fucking right and you should say it even louder.
Guild Wars 2 Heritage Post
Standing around listening to ambient dialogue in Rata Sum really gives you a great idea of several different things. Not the least of which being that so many people spend their days complaining about the Inquest in general.
But there's a bit of dialogue you can get standing near the Accountancy Waypoint, and it's interesting because it's clear that asura put more stock into double and triple checking things and AVOIDING blowing themselves up than the vast majority of players give them credit.
The dialogue in question has one NPC state that their mentor always told them "the magic is in the minutia," and when asked what th at meant, the response was "It means triple check everything down to the finest detail unless you want to blow up the lab."
People joke a lot about asuran inventions never working, them constantly blowing themselves up, etc, but honestly they're a lot more careful than people seem to give them credit.
(And honestly? Good advice!)
