Why do you think ankka wanted to destroy everything to reset the world? The wiki says she was using Zhaitan's magic unchecked, so maybe that's why?

So Ankka's really multifaceted in this regard. The nutshell version is that she saw what the harbingers did in Cantha and flew too close to the sun, absorbing Zhaitan's magic unchecked. She didn't take care to use balance, as she thought she was obviously superior to them.

She was filled with the Void, and as she saw events unfolding in her mind, she became jaded and nihilistic. She saw creation as pointless, since it could all just be wiped out at any minute. We were the antithesis to that notion, trying to protect creation instead of letting the world be consumed and destroyed to restart what she thought was an endless, pointless cycle of death and rebirth.

This wasn't helped by her earlier forays with the Aetherblades into the Fractals to gather parts and supplies, where she was witnessed killing her own fractal duplicate over and over and over again with no emotion.

Life, death, creation, destruction. It was all pointless to her. Meaningless. So why not help the process along?

She's honestly, genuinely tragic. Between killing herself in the fractals and absorbing so much of Zhaitan's magic AND the void, is it any wonder she decided that nothing mattered? No one mattered? All of existence was meaningless, and the only meaning was the cycle.

Anyway I think they're both really cool, and they both have extremely different motives and motivations born from wildly different struggles and histories, and that's what I got to say.

I'm so tempted to make Kuda one of Miyya's kids and like. One of her Very Few Children that she actually thinks is successful/gives a shit about. Because that's really funny to me.

Hey jay, just finished reading Sea of Sorrows for the first time in years, and it's made me love what I've seen of your rosie even more 💖💖💖

Oh I LOVE Sea of Sorrows so much; it really was a direct inspiration for why I made Rosie in the first place. There's some great characters and I think it's a pity more people haven't read it!

And honest I've got to talk about her more because she's a good kid trying to do her best and watching her father get steamrolled while trying to care for the very city his grandfather fought tooth and nail for to keep free, only to see it turned into what feels like another arm of the monarchy, free in name only.

An asura desperately wondering if they get paid enough to manage the council-run orphanage.

(And the exciting reveal: the orphanage caretaker name vote did come to a conclusion! Their name is Frizz!)

Honestly I think the most baffling thing about this update to me (and I did enjoy the update this is more just mulling on an asura lore level) is that somehow it's managed to make Ludo less interesting than she is in her limited appearances in the personal story/base game.

Ludo and Zudo both were shown being perfectly okay with the council being involved with the Inquest.

There's actual dialog that you can still see in the council chamber with them that alludes to this. The whole council, save Phlunt, is open about it. So Ludo suddenly being all pearl-clutchy and "oh NO I would NEVER work with the INQUEST" is very bizarre if you know literally anything about asura.

This could've been a really great opportunity to dig at the fact that the council was so complacent for so long that it allowed this rot to fester, but instead you get this Valiantly Anti-Inquest Ludo that did not exist before the current story. I find that much less interesting about her.
