Spoiler alert!!!!!!
Avengers Endgame.
Itās the ending scene spoiler for Endgame!!!
If you are a Romanogers fans, then you can but not if you wanna avoid spoilers.
It does make a lot of sense in a lot of reasons:
Cap didnāt tell Sam who he was married with.
Cap is in love with Natasha, just watch Endgame and you definitely wonāt think otherwise.
If you donāt believe that Natasha would stay back in time for Cap, think again because she is the same girl that became a fugitive for Cap.
Marvel themselves stated that it was someone who Cap had ārescuedā was married to Peggy
If it is indeed a loophole where Steve and Peggy got married, then why did Peggy say āitās been a long timeā to 2014 Steve when old Steve must still be with her?
Now if it is alternate timeline, then does that give Steve to bang any bitch he wants? WTF!
Steve would never be selfish enough to take away Peggyās life.
Peggy told Cap to move on.
Steve already found home in the new world.
Just to end it, Steve never actually said that he wanted a life with Peggy, they only owed each other a date and a dance.
Cap is married to Nat!
End of discussion.
So at this point Iāve seen Endgame three times. And I still do not like the ending they gave Steve. I realize this is a divisive opinion, but I stand by my gut feelings on the matter. In fact, the original night I bought tickets for the family showing (Thursday) the hubs couldnāt make it, heās IT and system issues at work kept him there late that day. But he wanted to see the film so I took him on Sunday. And at the end of the film he turned to me - and keep in mind that Marvel is more my thing than his, he doesnāt read the comics, but heās seen all of the films and theyāre his only point of reference - and saidĀ āisnāt it sort of out of character that Cap would just leave the other Avengers like thatā for which I respondedĀ āfreakinā thank you!!!ā.Ā
See, even those not that emotionally invested in the outcome of these characters to the extent that we are here in fandom get why that ending was a complete 180 for the character. And no I had not discussed the film with him beforehand, he wanted to go in unspoiled, so I didnāt influence his thought process in this, he didnāt know what I had thought of the ending.
But none of that is the point of this post. The point of this post is to point out the GOOD. For 95% of that movie, Cap was absolutely amazing. So I no longer want to talk about that horrible ending, I want to talk about the GOOD parts.Ā
Steve running a support group to help the living who had lost people in the snap.
Steve noticing a pod of whales swimming in the Hudson on his drive to Avengers headquarters. My boy stops to smell the roses even at this time of absolute sorrow and misery, yes he does, bless him.
Steve trying to cheer Natasha up by making a crack about heād cook dinner for her, but that would only make her more miserable.
Steve respecting Tonyās decision not to want to get involved at first.
Steve doing everything he could to remain positive and to encourage everyone.
The patented Steve Rogers Motivational Speech⢠that even Rocket was impressed by.
āI can do this all day.āĀ āYeah, I know.ā
āHuh, that really is Americaās ass.ā
Steve (and Tony) taking great risk that they may be stuck in the 1970ā²s but doing it anyway to get the tesseract/space stone.
Steveās quiet gutted grief at Natashaās death, just sitting there, tears running down his face, not imposing his sorrow on the rest of the team who were experiencing their own stages of grief. Just trying to quietly process his devastation without speaking over anyone elseās. As is his way. In fact, Nat was one of the few people who wouldnāt let him do that, who would always try to get him to share his pain (Sam was the other).Ā
This one goes without saying, but Steve wielding Mjolnir and conjuring lightening. Like. A. Boss. In all three showings I went to, the audience came alive most at this scene, hooting and hollering and cheering like itās the World Series and the favored team had just hit a home run.
And lastly, my favorite Steve moment of them all. Thor and Iron Man are down. The rest of the team is buried under rubble. Thanos is threatening to bring down Earth, saying heāll enjoy it. His army appears. The Black Order. The Chitauri. Thousands, upon thousands of horrible snarling beasts. Steve, injured and bloody, his breathing labored, musters the last of his strength and he stands, alone, to face them all down, his face fierce.
Thatās my boy, and I love him with my whole heart.
You know what bothers me ?
Nebula knew that the deal was a soul for the soul stone and no one bothered to fill in Clint and Natasha this or any other avenger.
The worst part about Natashaās death is that she didnāt know they won, that her sacrifice was what made a difference - that Clint got his family back.
Tony died, surrounded by the ones he had lost and by the ones he loved. He died knowing that his sacrifice was worth it, that he had saved them. He had a chance to say goodbye and to record a message for his daughter.
Natasha didnāt even get to say goodbye to the only family she ever had, the only people who ever cared about her. She died, not knowing if they would win and if she had done enough to save the world.
i know we literally got a scene with steve and peggy dancing at the end but im gonna keep pretending that when sam asked about steveās fiance steve said he wouldnāt talk about it because it was tonyĀ
