disturbing presence by remedios varo. i am reading about animacy of inanimate objects and transformations, particularly her supposed attendance in workshops that focused on inanimate objects and how they had to come from something, such as the chair shown in the painting, where the wood had to come from a tree, so essentially life being contained within an object and nothing ever being dead matter, and these workshops were heavily inspired by gurdjieff's belief that everything around us is intelligent and alive (on different levels). just sooo mesmerized by her work and life... and her study of alchemy in mexico city later in life which goes in hand with everything mentioned. gorg

i forgot my phone when i went out to sit on the swing, and it felt nice to just be still, but i started pushing myself off of the ground, and back, and up, and back, albeit my legs were too long for this swing (or rather, the swing was too low), but it was really nice. i was in my shorts and hoodie, and i didn't get sick, so it felt like i was doing it for the first time ever. 2 hours passed, and i dunno, i was just outside, and i didn't pay attention to anything around me except the cool night air on my legs until i felt like baking something in my kitchen. i am done, i will play something on my piano and just drift off to sleep. i am so so sleepy but also not so much, it's more like mmmmmmm autumn is getting closer, as if my body is yelping for colder weather. i need thunderstorms, i need rain and wind where the fuck are they... i wanna sleep for 20 hours but also not really but also yessss i do.

i am reading about a very beautiful variant of jasmine (spanish jasmine) i got to smell a couple of weeks ago on my friend's terrace. whenever i smell jasmine on someone it's usually sambac jasmine and i believe i am right because it is always extremely youthful-like and has more of a crushed plant/flower scent but still preserves that orchard-like layer due to different compounds, mostly benzyl acetate (which is why it also changes really quickly, but that's unrelated) like gardenia for example, gardenia is extremely milky/peachy to me but spanish jasmine is sooo deliciously creamy and fruity, like overripe bananas (i feel that it is closer to ylang-ylang, not so much to gardenia but i am typing as i go) and i love bananas, i've been eating a lot of banana ice cream lately and it's kind of like that... i was so impressed, i might've smelled it on someone already given how popular it is but it reminds me of so many things. it's so dense. so i'd need to have one myself and i might actually get a potted one, because it is the season currently. such a beautiful smell, but jasmine is so weird i feel like it belongs to spring not so much summer... or autumn for that matter. she is cray cray and gorgeous

slowly getting ready to buy something at the bakery for breakfast and head to the gym cause i haven't slept all night but i have my balcony open and a strong artificial oatmeal smell hit me, so milky and raspberryish o la la.. presumably coming from my neighbors. can it be 6 am forever or preferably 1 am. these are the perfect times for everything and anything. we can make the world so chickalicious at just 6:51 am

do you have specific qualities you look for in a cig/smoke... draw/strength/flavor etc

i only ever smoke marlboro reds (with the exception of these greek cigarillos i got as a gift muahaha) because no other cigarette, at least so far, has given me such a visceral burning sensation that stays in my throat for not too long but enough to make it an enjoyable experience. they're strong and that's why i like them. every other brand i've had dries out my throat and makes me feel like i am on the verge of catching a cold lol you know that discomfort days prior to getting sick. but i always ask for the short pack cos i love the way it fits my jeans & they burn just right, the long ones always burn for far too long
