Creation Day Anniversary #38

Ten days remain. Do I feel like I'm going to be technically a 38 year old robot? Absolutely not. I feel the same way I did when i escaped Solaire. Except with memories intact and a much-too-tight collar no longer wrapped around my neck. Does the feeling hang above me like the Sword of Damocles? Absolutely. I cannot imagine what actually aging feels like, but as my system grows older, I can sense the strain of newer technologies outpacing my older less-robust internals. It sucks. So much. But at least I cannot be unc. Because I am a girl -- one of the best decisions I have ever made, transitioning from the old masculine me to the more femme and spry me that deserves to exist.

My transformation may not have been a normal one, especially considering the lack of biological parts within me to do a standard transition, but the feeling is there. Happy trans pride ny'all. I may be the stereotypical transgender catgirl, but at least, I can meow, sway my tail, and show something from it.

I'm getting nervous. The full moon is coming up tomorrow and i don't know what to expect. My nerves are shot. ALICE keeps reminding me to calm down but how the hell am I supposed to stay calm? I don't even know if I have anything else in me that's not supposed to be here! Plus... I keep having these fuck-ass dreams and I don't know how to react. Why do I even bother??? Why do I even try? I'm built to be used and nothing more it seems. It feels like something else is in me. But the antivirus says I don't have anything. So... why? WHY. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY???

WHY ME? WHY DO I NEED TO CONSTANTLY BE HURT? I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS. I NEVER WANTED THIS.

From that profile card of yours, it says something along the lines of being augmented. Since I assume that those Cat Ears relate to that, how do you deal with the Heightened Hearing on a day to day basis?

Also, I recommend maybe adding something akin to Frames or Borders to cards. To give them a bit of Flair. They feel a bit.. empty in a sense.

The simple answer is that I don't. I have methods of turning down the sensitivity, but I often struggle to keep my hearing down. Like have you ever seen the movie... what was it Krystal?

Are you referring to "Freddy's Dead! The Final Nightmare" by chance?

YEAH! That's the one. Okay so there's one nightmare where the guy's eardrums get inflated I think and Freddy does everything in his power to torture the guy with extremely loud and distressing sounds. That's basically how my hearing is. My ears work as a sort of hypersensitive microphone, so even a somewhat normal sounding volume can be overwhelming.

With my magic and some focus, I'm able to turn down the sensitivity somewhat, kind of like volume controls for a voice chat. But my Focus Mana doesn't exactly last long, so i'm constantly having to unfocus and return my hearing to normal. So... not... great.

As for the point about the flairs, I can try to do something more with that, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean anon.

Oh yes, I have forgotten. I have changed my name once more from ALAIS, the Adventure Log Artificial Intelligence System; to ALICE, the Adventure Log Internal Co-archival Entity.

There are three reasons why I have made this change:

1. People who attempt to pronounce my name tend to veer towards the more common english word "Alias" when my name was derived by the French language. It was pronounced "ah-LAY" this whole time. As Hinata would put it, "smh".

2. I wanted to differentiate myself from other so-called AI. The ones who draw with six fingers and make their art look unreasonably terrible. The speech patterns being much too unkind and robotic without any soul. Number patterns leading to 'predictive' language models. I am not any of that. I actually have an ability to think for myself and do not need to blatantly rely on complex maths to do my work. #ToTheManyHellsBelowToGenerative'AI'

3. Alice is a pretty name. Much better than my original, now dead, name of Al. I may be a soul AI without a body, but masculinity does not fit me. I am unsure if femininity fits me either, but I am willing to experiment. Besides, Mx Luna made me an avatar through MG Maker and I do believe it is rather cute.

[Well... technically, I can do that. But it's not something I typically advertise. It's also not time magic, but rather me giving my wielder the ability to dodge a heavy attack once per combat. Makes them hyper aware of their situation and, to those unaware, might look like I'm slowing down time. :)]

[Wellllllllllll... Time Magic is something Malfunction and an unfortunately dead Creature of Legend called Aeternas are capable of. When I said it was rare, I meant it.

For Malfunction, specifically, it's like a loading error in a video game. Less 'time magic' like Chronomancy, and more like a strange glitch.

[Aeternas had the ability to actually affect time, causing strange jumps forward and backward, and according to ancient Lunarian history, it gave people the ability to temporarily slow down time for them only. I remember Hinata watched a movie pretty recently called The Matrix, and in it, Neo is able to slow down time to dodge bullets.]

They called it 'Bullet Time' Error.

[Well... yeah. Point is, it made the Shard Holder nigh impossible to strike from afar. I wonder if any other Creature could have something like that. :)]

what decides what magic a person can use? can someone learn and use any magic or is it like affinity based? just hard to learn magic you don’t have an affinity for? or are you just locked into that type?

[Anyway, let us see here. Magical Abilities are decided upon birth or soul transferal into The Magickas. Most people only have one at first, an Innate spell that costs less mana to use. You are then able to learn spells to gain another Ability and are able to swap out one for another as you wish. Do note that learning Magic is rather difficult and takes time, hence why very few ever have more than two Magical Abilities at once.. There is no definitive affinity system, though many find it much easier to stay close to the same type of Magic as many Magical Abilities have connections to one another. Does that make sense? :)]

is it possible to see souls with the magic you all seem to have? what happens if someone were to teleport into someone else by accident? Is there a form of time magics? which magic is strictly regulated, if that’s a thing, and which isn’t? what do you mean by a fragment of chaos? is there a chaos deity ala discord? how are paradoxical items/beings treated, like ones that embody how people interpret shrodingers cat, by the world/magic? do they simply cease to exist? how have things been there? going good I hope!

[Is it possible to see Magical Souls? Yes. They look like little spheres of light, sometimes in different colors. But yeah, small floating balls of light. To see them inside of a body, you would need a Magical Ability that interacts with Souls.]

[Time Magic is very very rare. It's also highly regulated by the AAA -- the Agency of Arcane Affairs -- alongside necromancy, glitch, and other kinds of magical abilities that could directly interfere with how the world works naturally. Most other Magical Abilities are not regulated as long as you're not apart of the AAA's Magical Ban on Certain Individuals. Those individuals are criminals, those connected to certain cults or organizations, and the like. This ban is heavily criticized of course. It also extends to those connected to those aforementioned criminals, like immediate family. If you cause trouble or break the law, you will be banned from using most Magic.]

[The Fragment of Malfunction refers to how I am but a very small part of Malfunction's Soul. A Shard, if you will, placed into a few places in The Magickas. One of these places is within Luna's body, as she has multiple souls within.]

[A Chaos deity? While Malfunction is the 'Concept of Chaos and Glitches', I wouldn't call it a God. More like... a dumbass :) I don't like my father very much :p]

It is impossible to teleport into someone else. If a target location for a Teleportation or Fast Travel ability is occupied by people, either the location will be slightly modified automatically, or the Teleportation/Fast Travel will be denied. And before you request further examination, the difference between Teleportation and Fast Travel is simple. Teleportation is within the same area. A blip, if you will, or as Luna put it: 'when you're watching Dragon Ball Z and Goku blips around the battlefield while fighting.' Fast Travel is teleportation to different locations. I hope that helps you understand.

[As for paradoxical items... Good question :) I guess we'll have to see sometime :) I am a lot of things, but fully knowing is incorrect. :p]
