ksxjie:
unlike their other friends, hui was one of the friends that was close in age to them, much like nat anyway, and really, it was rare for jie to make friends like that because majority of those that they were close to were older than them. but hui understood them, and there were a lot of similarities between them both that just made jie possibly the most comfortable they could be with someone because they weren’t afraid of being themselves or lettering the other see them like this. after all, far too many people that saw jie like this.. they would’ve made their life hell. all because they were wearing a skirt and smiling about it.
the smiled then, laughing a little quietly at the response as they looked in the mirror. “so it does look good?” jie questioned then, a lot more at ease now as they turned and moved over to sit next to hui then, curious to what he was working on now. “are you okay if i watch?” their head tilted then, an almost hopeful look there because they were intrigued by the idea, and watching hui dance just made jie want to improve their own skills for debuting. “it sounds like it’s gonna be great.. but all your stuff is, you know? i wish i was as good a dancer as you..” they sighed, but only a moment before the smile was back again.
Hui didn’t really have many friends. No one seemed to like him enough, he never seemed to shut up when he got the chance and he did tend to bather on a bit about history if you mentioned it. But Jie was different, they were a proper friend and Hui was happy to have someone else to talk to in the language he was most comfortable with. At least in Mandarin he didn’t have to water down everything because he was worried about saying the wrong thing or making a fool of himself. Maybe he should make more of an effort to learn better Korean. Maybe.
Nodding his head, there was a grin on his face as he looked over the fame chaser again. “Yeah, it looks good on you,” Jie did pull of a shirt better than he did. Though he had got some compliments about having nice legs, though he couldn’t quite tell if they were being serious or mocking him. “You want to watch? It’s not going to be anything interesting, but you can if you want to,” he wouldn’t mind, he supposed, maybe he could even get them to help and offer some opinions. “You flatter me,” he laughed a little, opening up his bag and pulling out his laptop, flipping it open, “But you are a good dancer, don’t put yourself down to much.”

ksxjie:
if there was something that jie hadn’t really counted on happening at this time, it was definitely getting caught. they’d thought that if it were this late then no one would have reason to end up in the dance studios, mostly because they were usually and normally deserted around this time and it was why jie used it on occasion to try on the things that they couldn’t wear without being in secret. but jie was thankful that the one who did walk in on them, was someone that knew about this, and made them comfortable with it; a lot actually.
but they still jumped at the voice, heart rate rocketing for a moment as they snapped out their distracted daze, until jie turned around and saw hui and instead let out a quiet sigh of relief as a small smile creeped onto their lips. “i thought it looked nice,” they pouted a little, mandarin slipping out then happily. another thing jie loved about hui? that it gave them another to speak the language they loved with. flattening the skirt down then, smoothing it out and looking again, they were still happy with how they looked, but it was still sad to them that they had to hide it. it was why in a lot of ways jie envied hui for not hiding like they did. “i didn’t think anyone would come over at this time– are you recording?” jie liked watching hui dance anyway, and learning from him.
Hui saw a lot of himself in Jie, and that was probably why it was so easy to be friends with them. They were the same age, same year, spoke the same language and bother were on the spectrum when it came to gender. The only difference that Hui was far more open about it, not afraid to tell people, but Jie hid it and that was just a little bit sad. Though the Chinese boy had to smile a little as he looked a his friend admire themselves in the large practice mirror in front of them. One day he hoped that they would be able to do it without having to worry about being judged or worrying about the problems that could arise from it. But, for now, he could understand why they didn’t express themselves more openly like this.
“I was just teasing you,” he responded with a small laugh, walking further into the room, carefully sitting himself down and slipping his backpack off, setting it down next to him. His eyes moved back over to the fame chaser, watching them for a moment before responding to the question with a shake of his head. “Not recording, I just came to get some choreo stuff sorted out. I’m doing a mashup of old groups debut songs and I need to work on how they’re all going to flow together nicely for the video. Then I cam start working on the mixing ready for filming.” He had a vague idea in his head, but he needed to work on it.
ksxaeri:
aeri wasn’t a stranger to a situation like this, but at the same time, it had been years since anyone had physically hurt him. it used to happen when he was a trainee at his first company, where the kids with the red and purple voices would attack him for being different and outcast him. and then when his group was starting to fight between themselves, he’d been in at least two or three physical fights there too. the only difference was, that none of the times before had anyone stuck around to help him back up, so when a figure appeared in front of him with an outstretched had.. aeri was confused. but still, he took the hand and pulled himself up, trying to ignore the throbbing pain behind his eye. “thanks.” wasn’t a word that slipped out too often from him actually. tucking his hair behind his ear then, he looked at the other for a moment. “what’s your name?” then he could at least say a stranger hadn’t helped him then ran off and he’d never know who, right?
Hui had been knocked flat on his ass many times before, and it was always nice when someone was there after to help him stand up again. So, knowing what it was like to have to try and pick yourself up again afterwards, he couldn’t let someone else deal with that. He smiled a little as he was hand was taken, pulling a little to help him stand up again. “Your welcome,” he responded at the thanks, waving his hand like it wasn’t any bother. And it wasn’t, he had been around and it wasn’t much effort just to offer a hand and make sure someone was alright. “Hui,” he gave his name with a brighter smile, “Cheng Hui.” Though he didn’t ask for the other’s name, truth was, he already knew it, so it would just be a pretty pointless question as he knew what he was going to be told. “Are you alright?” He asked instead, frowning a little as he inspected the injury, “Do you want me to take you to the nurse?”
》happy?
ksxryosuke:
Ryosuke scrunched his nose when the kid had revealed he was an inferior—not because he didn’t like inferiors, but because he didn’t know how to kid would react if he found out he was dating the rebel leader; the same clique that just went after him a while ago. The jock hopes Hui doesn’t change his mind about him when he finds out he’s dating the rebel leader because he sure as hell won’t break up with Joon just because people didn’t like it. He shook his head instead to stop overthinking, smiling at the Chinese before walking along with him. “Does it have to be a music room? I know the theatre’s empty at this time of day,” he suggested instead. But his ears had turned red at the praise, suddenly shy because he really hadn’t practiced Mandarin in such a long time. “Really? Thank you then.
“You dance? Cool!” Maybe it had been a little too enthusiastic but dancers often amazed Ryosuke, especially when they had so much control with their bodies. The jock would’ve wanted to try it but alas, dancing was never made for everybody. That said, he could appreciate the art whenever he sees it. “Oh, so you’re covering something now? What is it?” He’s never questioned people’s quirks simply because they never questioned his, and Ryosuke didn’t see the point in being an ass about it. “I know someone who likes wearing skirts. They don’t do it much because…well, you just experienced it…but I hope they can do it openly soon.”
He did notice the slightly scrunched nose, silently wondering if this meant that Ryosuke didn’t like inferiors. Hui himself didn’t see the big deal, the whole clique system that ruled over Keisung really made little sense to him. He didn’t see the point in it all, the stupid fights just because someone was in a different clique, why the angry and rude ones were the one who ruled the school. But he supposed that was just how the world worked, niceness could only get you so far and you got more from being a giant ass to everyone. “Well... no, it can be anywhere,” he responded, considering it for a moment, “I just need somewhere with a lot of space.” And he supposed the theatre would work just as well, if not better because it was bigger than a music room or the dance studio. “Really,” he added with a smile and a nod of his head.
Laughing just a little, he nodded his head, a soft smile on his face. “For years now,” though he had never actually taken any lessons, it had all been self taught. The dance club back in middle school was where he learned and he only got better with the cover dance group. “Happy,” he gave the title of the song, pulling the skirt down a little as he felt it riding up over his shorts, “WJSN.” The song was certainly not one of his favourites though, it almost annoyed him after listening to it so many times, but the commentators had requested it, so they were getting it. “Jie,” he was assuming anyway, smiling just a little, “I know.”

ksxjie:
was it stupid for them to do this? to actually risk being caught all because they wanted to see how they looked? probably. at least jie had been wise enough to sneak over later into the night when it was less likely for anyone to be around the dance block anyway. but the doors didn’t lock, and they that they needed to be quick.
what was jie doing in the studio at that time though? well, it was easily described they supposed by the simple act of trying on skirts they’d bought a while ago but hadn’t had the courage yet to really attempt to wear.. it wasn’t like jie really had anywhere to wear them either anyway– sure, nat had seem them in them, even helped them a lot with being comfortable.. but it still didn’t mean they had anywhere to wear them besides the dorm; and even that was a rarity. but why the dance studio? well.. because the mirrors were actually big enough, and the lights bright enough, for jie to really judge how they looked, and the conclusion they were coming to was that the skirts were cute and they’d made a good decision. only apparently too distracted by their reflection, jie failed to actually hear the door clique.
Laptop packed carefully into his backpack, Hui padded quietly through the hallways of Keisung towards the dance studio. It was late, he was aware, but he had a schedule he needed to stick to and he still needed to properly chronograph his new project so he could get on with the music mixing. It was a mashup, and he had never done one of those before, so it was proving hard to try and fit all the different songs and dances together so it flowed nicely.
Upon reaching the studio, he paused as he noticed the lights were on, which meant that there was someone in there. Wrinkling his nose a little, the Chinese boy peered in through the window, though his face lightened up significantly when he noticed who it was. Opening up the door, the inferior poked his head around, a grin on his face as he looked the fame chaser up and down, eyes lingering on the skirt around their waist. “That’s not your colour,” he teased lightly, slipping into the more familiar Mandarin easily as he slipped through the door, closing it behind him. It was not the first time he had seen Jie in a skirt and he knew full well that they liked them, heck, he even gave them the skirts he didn’t need anymore after he finished using them for his videos.
winwin and his drink 🍹
I think your legs look amazing in your skirts.
"Thank you! But I’m not really doing it to show of my legs, though.”
Ever thought about being an idol?
“No. I just like dancing, but I don’t want to be an idol. It’s for fun.”
People would pick on you a lot less if you stopped wearing skirts.
“I know, but that also wouldn’t be fun. Why do you care if I wear skirts or not?”
how pretty do you think you are? on a scale of 1-10
“I would say I’m not much above average. Maybe a 7?”
what do you like about keisung?
“I don’t really think there is a lot to like about it. I can’t really think of anything I like about this place. But it’s away from my parents and they can’t influence me, so I suppose that’s something to like.”
do you wear makeup as well as skirts?
“I would if I could. I am not very good with makeup and need people to help me put it on.”
ksxaeri:
aeri figured that one of these days he really should’ve known that his habit os snappy remarks and insults slipping from his mouth when people pissed him off.. well he should’ve been aware some day it was gonna bite him in the ass, at this school anyway. and with another snide comment waiting on his tongue for the older student that had had the nerve to make a comment about his appearance and his boyfriend for that matter, aeri hadn’t seen or expected the fist coming at his face. now.. aeri wasn’t exactly strong physically, because sure he was fit and toned from dancing, but that wasn’t strength. so it wasn’t surprising when he ended up on the floor from one hit, and the older male snickering above him before walking off. aeri could at least send a murderous glare into his back anyway, before he was more focused on the swelling around his eye that would probably bruise, as well at the bleeding coming from where the skin had broken too. so yea.. maybe the brainiac should’ve started to think about his words more.. but well, aeri never really saw point in that. until someone got physical with him that was.
It is not the first time he has seen someone in this school getting punched. For a change, it wasn’t him who was getting decked, but someone else, but the Chinese boy still felt bad that it was happening. And it was equally surprising that he recognize the person getting themselves hit. Hui was a dancer, he had covered some Spotlight songs before in the past, but there was one of the members actually in front of him... being punched in the face. Not really how he expected to meet an idol, but he chose not to say anything about it as it was probably pretty embarrassing. Hui waited until the guy doing the punching has left and had walked off before he made his arrival, slowly walking up to the idol on the floor before wordlessly standing in front of him, offering out his hand to help him stand up again.
