After what was clearly an exhausting two weeks traveling around the Philippines and visiting many schools/universities and realising how truely lucky we are. One last stop to look at a volcano before heading back to the airport
Visiting Pyatas dump site was the whole reason for our trip. To visit those who have no where to live but in and around the dump site. You don't truely understand how fortunate you are until you see first hand how those in poverty stricken countries live. This kids facial expression says it all. He was so cheeky trying to show off all his tricks to us, climbing up trees and throwing the ball. These children don't have the luxury of getting an iPad or iPhone or the latest technology at a young age. All the kids around were all wearing big happy smiles as we played games like duck duck goose or chasey. Funny how those with the least amount of materialistic items are the happiest people

You don't truely understand how fortunate you are until you see first hand how those in poverty stricken countries live. As we were walking around visiting the people living around the dump site we came across this young girl. She looks no older than 15, who was washing her families clothes, outside, by hand, as they don't have electricity in all the houses and cannot afford washing machines.

You don't truely understand how fortunate you are until you see first hand how those in poverty stricken countries live. This river was everyones source of water. They bathed in it, they washed food in it, they washed their clothes in it. All the while animal droppings, garbage from the dump and who knows what else is polluting the water.
With the help of Rotary Club we were able to visit MACAPAGAL School and bring school supplies, clothing and food
