I’m sorry for this, but I’ve been in such a constant rut with art. I haven’t made any progress and I fear you’re one of the few people I’m not to afraid of to ask for advice. I was wondering if you have any tips for improvement? Or advice on how to properly render? I’m looking for anything, genuinely. I adore your art and your yumeship and your art is so deserving of the love it gets, I only want help so that maybe one day the things I make and invest my time in can be appreciated as yours are. Thank you and sorry again for the ask being such a downer of a request.
Hey, no need to apologize at all, seriously. Thank you for reaching out and for being so honest. That means a lot, and your message was so sweet 🥺💕
I totally get how it feels to be stuck…it’s super frustrating and exhausting, especially when it feels like you’re not moving forward. But trust me, every artist hits that wall sometimes. It doesn’t mean you’re not improving. Sometimes growth just happens quietly.
As for tips: try not to overthink rendering. Focus on understanding light and form first, think of your drawing like you’re shaping something with your hands. Start simple, and slowly build up values and shadows. Also, don’t be afraid to use references, even pros do it all the time!
Most importantly though: be kind to yourself. The stuff you make now does matter, even if it doesn’t get all the attention right away. What you’re creating already has value just because you care about it. Just takes time and patience🤍
