i miss my weekly updates too :( part 13 is going to be the closest you’ll get to a weekly update (it’s also shorter than the last few chapters) but i need to get this out soon. august will be the busiest month of the year for me and i’ll probably return back to updating once a month. gotta make the best out of july 😊

i’m lowkey curious about jk’s love life before y/n. while y/n was with minho did he ever hook up with anyone? now i’m imagining a flashback where he purposely does it in front of her just to see her reaction and piss her off

oh, this is very pre-minho/y/n breakup jungkook haha. he was genuinely insufferable back then and i dont think the flashbacks so far have fully captured just how bad he could be, but i definitely plan on showing more of that

i read pt 12 amidst a genuine heat stroke while on a bus because my ass was so impatient 💔 but while it’s just me reading, you wrote the whole damn thing and in this damn heat (unless it isn’t that hot in your country?) but im so grateful 🫶🦊

oh no! take care of yourself angel :( stay hydrated first and foremost! the heatwave hasn’t hit my place yet. it’s occasionally warm and sometimes chilly. oh it rains every now and then too, so i’m pleased with the weather. winters have always been more brutal than the summers around here 🙁

i hate how much they think they don’t deserve each other 😭😭😭💔💔 it’s so heartbreaking. especially jungkook in this chapter. they are both so hard on themselves and i think that’s one of the main factors that’s clouding their judgement when it comes to actually giving in to what they could have. oh boy, lots of conversations must be had between them !

i do think jungkook is so hard on himself because of the way he treated her in the past, but i don’t think that’s the only reason, you know? he’s a complicated guy, and i think there’s still so much about him we have yet to learn.

everyone’s impatient for the next update but im here thinking, a year from now maybe, when the series has ended, i cannot wait for you to come back around with them as a couple with a few bonus chapters maybe, or just an epilogue of them both! im shaking in my boots truly. this is my favorite couple ever and ever and ever. 3/4th of the series having them hate eachother and not get along to seeing them cozy and stupidly inlove and cringe and potentially have kids oh im so greedy i need it neow. why do i have a feeling the banter between them is never going to end lol. kaena’s abt to fmu with half the epilogue being y/n and jungkook STILL arguing lmao ill go insane. i mean, atleast they’d be together hehe

i love this! i think you’ll hate to hear it, but their banter is genuinely my favorite part of the series. honestly, what better way is there to bring everything full circle than by sprinkling a little of their old hate dynamic back into the epilogue? it’ll be different, of course, but i’m so excited to write the bonus chapters. and kids? 😭 i’ve seen so many of you asking about them lately, but i don’t think children are on the cards for y/n and jungkook for a loooong time. who knows, though? never say never.

the ring jungkook secretly gave her is meant to hint that they do eventually get married - just in absolute secrecy. i can’t imagine the king ever approving of a knight marrying the princess despite everything. once she becomes queen, though, i think that changes.

this chapter was SO necessary!! we got to see how minho truly treated y/n while they were together and how jarringly different it was as opposed to her relationship with jungkook. that man did not care about her one bit, it seemed he only cared about how he’d be presented to others with her as his girlfriend, man wanted jungkooks approval more than his own girlfriends😕 talk about fragility.. i hope she realizes how much more she deserves than what minho gave her<//3

despite hyun’s hesitations after seeing jungkooks bruised up hand, i do believe that he took note of how jungkook acts and speaks of y/n. especially when it came to respecting her boundaries and acknowledging that what happened that night wasn’t his story to tell.

i also saw some comments that were talking about their frustrations with how y/n pushes jungkook away yet stayed with minho despite treating her poorly but honestly i think the way she handled minho as opposed to jungkook makes sense. she’s never been with someone who knows her deeper than surface level. minho didn’t truly know nor care for her the way jungkook does and she doesn’t know how to deal with that, so naturally when she gets told straight up how she allowed herself to be treated in the past with people like minho and is now presented with such sincerity from another, it’s hard to digest for her but what i see in this chapter is that she’s beginning to realize that she can’t hide from his and her feelings for e/o that much longer, despite her fears of truly opening up to someone, since she’s only been met with disappointment in the past. although, i do think they have a long way to go still but this chapter really felt like a turning point! im scared for the angst but it always does get worse before it gets better (hopefully) 😛 thank you for the update <33

i love your analysis! though i do think minho cared about y/n, at least at some point. and while i completely understand the reader’s point of frustration, i don’t think it’s that shocking when you consider how shallow her relationship with minho actually was, especially compared to what she shared with jungkook. it wasn’t all that different from any of her previous relationships. i think she spent most of the time she was dating him dissociating through it, and the rest convincing herself to stay despite the disrespect because she carried guilt over cheating on him with jungkook.

it is also important to make note that physical intimacy had never truly meant anything to her before. she’d never experienced genuine sexual fulfilment with anyone until jk, and i think that says a lot. she’s stubborn, yes, but also incredibly sexually frustrated, and minho simply doesn’t know what to do with that. his best friend, however, very much does. i think that’s exactly why she keeps running from jungkook, because for someone as avoidant as her, having her body react to him so instinctively is an absolute god awful nightmare.
