I'd honestly ship Kitty harder with Illyana or Rachel if she didn't canonically raise both of them like

Rachel was raised by Kitty and the other X-Men since she was a baby. This is why she views Kitty as a mother, something she stated often, and Kurt as an uncle. The most "romantic" moment fans bring up between the both of them is the one where Rachel tells goodbye to Kitty and asks her to give her a kiss while she holds her as a baby... Which is fucking creepy and pedophilic if it was meant to be read in a romantic light instead of familial or platonic

Illyana got bedtime stories told to her by Kitty canonically when she was 6 and got raised by an alternative version of her until she became a teen... Do I need to add anything else with that context in mind ? Claremont could have had any other character fill in that motherly role to Illyana yet insists that had to be Kitty and he wanted to imply this whole time to have had some romantic feelings between them

No, you´re right: one thing I hate is how incest is used for aesthetic, if you guys know me...I do like incest; I think it can be a great tool for the narrative, but Marvel uses it just for queer baiting and fetish. I do want Kitty, Bi and proud, to date a woman but not a woman who is attached with "oh Kitty raised them."

And I SEE many people shipping them but forgetting the past...Rachel was once held as a baby by Kitty and Kurt. If people were gross out by Kurt X Rachel bc age gap (well, different universes, but the idea is the same), Kitty x Rachel deserves the same.

Also....in Excalibur...there no indication of those two loving each other. I dont think anyone like each other very much in that group, worst group ever.

Kitty wept for baby Yana....so yeah, she would make out with older Yana...no bad implications here.
