⧼ brittany o’grady, cis female, she/her / rumours by sabrina claudio + old journals and books with a lingering smell of plants, an open window with the sounds of rain falling in an empty pot, old songs spinning on an ancient record player sometimes skipping tracks. ⧽ ━━ hey, isn’t that KNOX BELLAMY? i read a daily prophet article on them, once ; the TWENTY-THREE year old half-blood WITCH is a SLYTHERIN alumnus who has gone on to be a BOTANIST. i’ve heard they can be quite LAID BACK & QUIET, but i don’t know… they came off very BLUNT & SECRETIVE in that interview. it really is hard to know what to believe these days though, isn’t it?
name: knox bellamy
age: 26
zodiac: libra
birthday: october 16th
sexuality: heterosexual
very little was known about knox bellamy. other than the fact that her mother was a known blood traitor to her own family.
she was raised and surrounded by the muggle and wizard world. sometimes she would go with her muggle father to help out at his bakery and other times she would go to diagon alley and help run the plant shop her mother owned. being a lover a plants, knox often found herself with her mother and her shop.
it wasn’t much of a surprise when she got her letter. when she did arrive at hogwarts, knox was well aware of the house divide and the blood supremacy—being as her mother came from a family that supported such. and it wasn’t too long before she was sorted into slytherin, the same house her mother had ben sorted in during her school days.
some of her housemates wouldn’t interact with her simply because of her blood status while others were curious enough to risk approaching her. she was quite the intimidating girl as she always kept to a dark corner with steel like eyes glaring at everyone around her.
her mother’s family had been silent until knox’s fourth year. they saw a “second chance” with knox as her mother had otherwise failed the family. knox had only visited her mother’s side of the family twice as a child. and from what she gathered from her young memories, it had been the first time knox had been afraid.
with voldemort’s return, there was pressure from all around. the family wanted this and they wanted that. they wouldn’t leave her or her mother alone. at one point they even threatened to kill her father, just to get them to comply. and by the time the war was nearing, knox didn’t return for her sixth year. instead her mother erased knox’s father’s memories in order to keep him safe and had taken her to the states where she would be safe until the whole thing blows over.
once the war was over, knox still didn’t come back to hogwarts. instead, she continued traveling around the world with her mother. learning more about magical plants and herbs and taking an interest in potions, a class she once despised in school.
six years later, knox returns to diagon alley after her mother had fallen suspiciously ill and took over her shop. once she started showing her face in diagon alley, of course many people began to talk, especially about her mother.
but after her mother’s death, knox had disappeared for a year to find her father only to come up short. now she returns and reopens the plant shop, glancing over her shoulder at every turn, hoping to catch the watchful shadows.

- secret flings: just because knox kept to herself and usually never did many social activities, didn’t mean she hadn’t had her share of forbidden or scandalous actions. knox had a fling going on in her fifth year until it was cut off before the beginning of her sixth. the relationship is quite strange to say the least. they don’t get along but they do at the same time ( seamus finnigan )
- the persistent friends: there was that one person who wouldn’t stop appearing in knox’s life until the point where she begrudgingly accepted them as a friend, even if she pretends to hate them. (2/? )
- that one complicated relationship: this one has unknown tension between the two. it started back in school and carried over to their adult lives. neither one of them want to acknowledge the why, they just know that this works for them whenever they interact. they aren’t close but they know each other all the same ( cho chang )
- the competitor: someone knox was always provoking or competing with. they were definitely more on the rivals side and it all mostly stemmed from the beloved wizard sport quidditch.

- that one person she won’t forget: while on her travels with her mother, knox would meet many different people. this one particular person had grabbed her attention and then began quite the friendship. knox still kept in contact with them
- one night stand: this one was quite forgettable considering they were mostly drunk through it all. it happened shortly after her mother’s death and she had decided to drink her sorrows away for that night. the next morning she left without a glance
“if you’re looking for some poison, i guarantee this place won’t give you the best kind. believe me, i tried.” knox hummed quietly to the person next to her while she had been eyeing a particular-looking antique through a store window. it was a skeleton hand, of course. nothing to out of the ordinary for this alley. “and no, i’m not promoting my business—there’s honestly way better poisons out there than what knockturn has to offer—well at least the illegal kind that doesn’t get shut down by a bunch of aurors.”
knox understandingly when the other clarified. she glanced at the locket and hummed, "yes, that is pretty. obviously cursed--possibly less subtle than poison but pretty nonetheless." she tucked her hands behind her back, with a thoughtful expression on her face. "i would gift it to someone than keep it for myself. but that's just me i suppose." maybe it was a little mean, maybe a little cruel, knox didn't care to acknowledge it.
"excuse me," and before she - or anyone else, for that matter - can take another step into the familiar great hall, she reaches out to touch their elbow and bring them to a stop. it's an attention drawing movement that screams pulling aside a member of staff over starting a catch up conversation with a one time peer, and the friendly smile that pansy turns onto them is equal parts dazzling and false. her other hand motions towards the dozens of tables and chairs which have been arranged around the room in place of the four house tables, and there is somethig... careful to the cluelessness with which she asks, "perhaps you might be able to direct me towards the slytherin area of this little soiree... ? i'm a tad confused on the... boundaries, here."
"to be honest with you?" knox hummed while looking around the great hall herself for the sixth time that evening. she crossed her arms, "i think whoever planned this event might be going for an interhouse theme here. hence the unmarked tables." knox herself didn't much care for the idea nor did she much care for sitting with her own house from time to time. but she remembered a teacher tried pushing it back in school and she absolutely hated the idea. seems as if nothing's changed. "i could be wrong--though there's been little shown to prove me wrong so far."

"hands on? mmm," knox gave a small pout but shrugged. "suit yourself but poison's much more delicate in my opinion." she watched with little intrigue as the other examined the options on display. "i wouldn't find it here though. as much as knockturn loves to advertise itself as being quite deadly, i think you'll find better options in other places."

“if i told you i accidently jinxed a broom and now it’s wreaking havoc on london, would you report me to the ministry?” knox asked. although the question itself was concerning, the subject didn’t quite match the witch’s face. instead she wore a thoughtful expression at the other who had taken a seat next to her at the bar. she’d actually come here to get a drink to go, but after her little incident before arriving, her mind was buzzing and far too distracted to worry about whatever business she had been thinking about prior to this. “if yes, then i’m afraid i’m going to have to obliviate this entire conversation. or maybe frame you. whichever you prefer.”
“hmm, good. nobody likes a rat.” knox nodded as she leaned back in her seat with a thoughtful frown. “although, if you did see the jinxed broom, could you mind returning it to me? i have to sweep the shop at some point.”
LOCATION: the ninth annual ministry gala.

" wanna play a drinking game with me? " slightly wide eyes and the uncharacteristically bright smile softening usually - sullen features suggests it’s a game lavender has been playing for a while now, drink hugged close to chest like it provided some comfort. ⸺ or perhaps in case someone tried to confiscate it. either were both possible options. at least the girl was having fun, something she personally felt she’d earned after having to bribe her way into somebody’s plus one. turns out, that pesky fear of missing out won every time. " the rules are; you have to take a swig every time a worker says but, um during their talks. it happens a surprisingly large amount. "
“why not? s’not like this party has much to offer anyway.” knox mumbled, leaning back against a pillar as she took a glass cup from a passing waiter. these galas were always quite boring to knox, even when she was younger and had to attend. none of it had changed much. it’s a wonder she was even invited back in the first place. knox knew she wasn’t much in good standing with some people at the ministry. had to be pure sheer luck by now. “i was dragged into a ridiculously boring conversation where they used but um a lot. perhaps i should take my first couple of swigs.”
knox smirked, “relax, we won’t have to duel today.” although she’s sure that perhaps her and parkinson might tie, depends on how rusty the other’s duel skills are. even then, knox didn’t feel like dealing with jinxes or curses hitting her face. today she needed her moneymaker in order to stay in business. “google can try but it’s not knox bellamy--brighten up your study? may i suggest a lamp? a candle maybe?”
"i'm glad to hear it," she replies - snarky as ever, of course, though knox tends to get away with so much more than other people and PROBABLY knows it. "nobody likes an overly boastful shopkeep, bellamy," even her words of warning land without punch, her focus divided between the other & one of the nearest potted plants, a leaf from which she pinches between finger and thumb, "very funny. if it were actual lights i were looking for i'd have spared us both this trouble. i'm afraid foliage is the only option."
“i’d be pretty dull if i wasn’t so boastful. therefore this shop would be positively dull and no one would be coming back just to talk to the charming shopkeeper.” knox shrugged with a lazy smirk. it was always good fun to have these particular chats with pansy parkinson. with her, knox didn’t mind the snark—especially when she could easily bite back. it had always been that way between the two, as far as knox could remember. “that’s a shame, there’s a nice lamp sitting out front of a shop next to mine. could really liven up your place. but you have come to the right place—the best plant place in all of diagon alley. we can start with the more vibrant and lively plants i have here.”
❛ i said a lot of other nice things , toughen up , nerd . ❜ said pasny parkinson ( @witchbiitches )
“well this nerd could poison you with any plant of her choosing.” knox retorted halfheartedly. she then looked to the other with a quirked brow after setting aside a potted plant. earlier she had a bit of an accident with the dancing roses getting loose around her shop. good thing no customers had decided to come in or else her day would’ve been more hellish than now. “so what oddly specific plant do you need from me today?”
“is that really a threat?” pansy asks, more conversational than the topic perhaps deserves, “i feel as if the rise of google has made that true of most people.” of course, knox knows her stuff better than most people. pansy can usually admit THAT much, even if it is with difficulty, but far be it for her to allow her sometimes friend this particular moment. “i’m not sure. truthfully, i want something... easy. something to brighten up my study without me having to expend much energy.”

💬 - for my muse to directly say a secret or confession
"i'm secretly a ghost." knox gave a small wink before rolling her eyes. "kidding. now if i revealed a secret, it wouldn't be much of a secret, now would it? i like being mysterious actually."
🤞- what’s the most impulsive thing you can picture your muse doing
literally cursing someone. on purpose or accident? depends on her mood that day.
🔷️ - is your muse good or bad at lying?
literally the queen of lying. how do you think she won all those bets? fairly? lol, loser.
⚪ what are small things that mean something to your muse
taking care of her plants without her having to tell you. knox doesn't ask for much but it's nice that someone is considerate of her, even if she refuses their help. she's shy about it and not much use to it.
💢 mannerisms that your muse has when they’re angry or sad
knox gets extremely quiet whenever she is angry. when she is sad, she adds to her usual sarcasm. making jokes at inappropriate times and seeming indifferent almost
👻 - recall one or more times your muse has been the most scared or fearful
knox’s good traits can often be overshadowed by how blunt and severe she is. but some of those traits that are protected fiercely by her will slip up. you’ll notice it if you pay close attention. although she wouldn’t consider any trait good—perhaps useful—but she was content with who she was. knox can be laid back or levelheaded—able to make correct calls without panicking. observant to the point where it’s a little overbearing to her and everyone else around her. attentive, as much as she is self-interested, she can be somewhat considerate to those she respects and or cares for.
🏹 - would your muse ever kill and why
yes. there’s really no complicated explanation or answer to this.
🤝 - is your muse a people pleaser?
no. in fact she makes it a point to let you know that she has no interest in pleasing you for the sake of being liked.
it honestly depends on the situation. when she was on the run during her later teenage years, yes, knox had a healthy fear of death back then. but in general? knox doesn't find herself thinking about it unless death comes to her face to face.
👻 - recall one or more times your muse has been the most scared or fearful
her duel with her cousin, pollux stark. even though she was mostly winning--and could've won for the matter--there was still the question of if she would make it out of it. especially when the stark family wasn't afraid of using dark spells while knox had always been quite reluctant. if she did not succumb to using the same spells, she probably would've lost. once more nearly coming face to face with death. that was one of the only times she had truly been afraid.
❌ - what would cause your muse to be petty or say something hurtful
if someone were to maliciously attack her character or her mother's. otherwise knox doesn't anger quickly and doesn't always resort to pettiness unless she absolutely has to. and when she does, it's sharp and ruthless. more severe than the other.
🎭 - does your muse try really hard to compensate for something?
not really. knox is pretty secure with herself so she doesn't find the need to compensate for anything. at least in her opinion.
