   If this was how Seth was holding himself together, Santanico almost wished    Kate was back home. They’d both lost their siblings, they shared that middle    ground, but that had to be it.

   An eyebrow had risen up on her forehead as she watched him. He hesitated,   but was it because of her location or whether or not she was truly safe. Her   concern may have be misconstrued, but that’s all it sincerely was. Had she   lived a regular life, she might have turned out like her.

The look on his face was almost insulted, Staring at Santanico he snorted. “Yeah. She’s alive, AND safe. The hell do you think I’d do? Drop her off somewhere and leave?” Well. It’s not like he hasn’t  thought about it. Leaving Kate with enough money and going. She was safe, but was she living the best life? No. Being forced into  doing jobs with Seth probably wasn’t all that good on her mind, or health.

“I hesitated because I don’t want you or Richard coming up and bothering her. She’s been through enough” We both have “She doesn’t need you two showing up and making her life more shitty”
