—-{❀✿} “You seem a little lost there—-
need some help?”
”Ah--more than so. I'm travelling in the Sinnoh region and heard that there was an herb shop somewhere here.... Could you, perhaps, direct me towards it?”
█ ▌⊰ ♕ ⊱
Looking around. she had to admint that she was lost. Great. Just great, it had to happen ! The brunette had lost her map on her way to Kalos, because of some ” turbolences ” while flying on her Charizard. Noticing someone was talking to her, well she assumed the person did, Amy quickly turned around. ” I need directions to find the local Laboratory. “
”The Laboratory, hm?”
As soon as the word hang in the air, Diantha raises a finger to her chin ironically, as though taking the time to think about her answer before saying it, as obvious as it was. Of course, supposedly this girl was unaware of the actual irony in this situation, seeing as she ( possibly ) did not know who she was and didn't know exactly where she was either. Then, a snap of her fingers, and she extends a pointed index finger in the direction down the narrow street.
”That way, I believe. Though it is fairly easy to get lost in this city. If you'd like, I could escort you; I have no plans today, and you seem yourself a young trainer, no? That is the only reason I can discern why you'd want to head to Professor Sycamore's Lab.”
laughs really loudly because there are some villains diantha just goes "oh hey you seem cool" and then later "wait a second" see: lysandre & ghetsis and then there's hecking giovanni she's just
"no."
i think it's about time i start making some icons of my rl fc for diantha (queen diana, eheh) so i'm going to go do that very quickly. i'll probably just use them as more icons of her current verse, since there's no real reason to make an "older" verse considering she's already well an adult. since i only have 41 anime icons anyways, it'll be good to have more icons of her.
The mention of Ghetsis’ hair came as nothing resembling a surprise. To those who knew not who he was, it always was among the first things they brought up, much to his occasional annoyance. No matter.
"Diantha, I am Ghetsis." His response seemed clipped, the mention of his name cutting off before it could continue. "Your apologies aren’t needed, given how pleasant you are about this meeting thus far."
Indeed, something about the name seemed somewhat familiar, especially when combined with memories of a movie star from Kalos with the same name. Just keep it quiet, keep in her good graces. Sometimes, it was the little things that made a ruler’s associations as powerful as they were.
"It’s good to meet you," he flatly stated, offering his own left hand in return. A quick grasp of Diantha’s hand with his own, a shake, and quickly withdrawing it back to his side. Whether it was distant or simply cautious wasn’t any of Ghetsis’ concern. It still resulted in the same actions playing out.
”I graciously thank you for your understanding.”
With her small blunder pushed to the side, Diantha felt a little more professional under the pretense that she was quite calm and not at all embarrassed by her mistake ( though this thought truly gripped her mind, and it took tremendous effort to hide the staining red threatening to heat her ears ). The man had a certain aura surrounding her that was almost threatening--if not for his uniquely calm and collected tone, as well as the effort he put into making a good first impression--or at least, turning what could have been a potential disaster into a mutual understanding.
With this in mind, she turned her attention towards the city around her, taking its breathtaking view as though to distract herself from making any further ordeals. She hadn't even noticed the man's unnerving caution with his actions, and was far too orientated with herself and her own motions to truly grasp the stranger's hardened face.
”Ghetsis, hm? It's a pleasure to meet you as well. So, tell me, what exactly are you doing in the Kalos region? Your clothes... I've never seen them at any boutique shop in this city nor the entire region. You must be from elsewhere, no?”
"and you… must be diantha, correct? it’s a pleasure to meet you on my end, i adore your work, yet i’d be correct to guess you aren’t all too pleased to make my acquaintance, yes?”
a cool, calculating expression laid across his face. a smug smirk danced across his lips, skin at the corner of his eyes crinkling just so.
”That----” she begins, pausing as the contours of her lips now curling into a frown, delighted not with this presence nor his stark tone of confidence. ”Is a b i t of an understatement.”
His presence was far from welcomed, but she could endure it--if only for the time being. For how long, Diantha was unsure. Best to simply move on with her life and try to forget such an unlucky encounter ever happened. Therefore, her arms cross in defense, and brows raise questioningly.
”Now tell me, Giovanni, is there something you want from me, or did you simply happen to be here? I doubt this is the case.”
"Ah... forgive me for intruding, but you seem a little lost. Is there anyway I may help you?"
Diantha was normally a very attentive person, and seeing someone in a bit of a pickle was no way to act as the Champion of Kalos. Especially if she were to come from a different region, than it was Diantha's duty to welcome her with open arms and a smile--not just for the cameras, for the image, but because it was simply the right thing to do.
Hardened eyes, the expression of seriousness, altered her usually optimistic smile into a thin line, mutating what little smile had been left into what many called her "business face."
"Giovanni, was it? You've made quite a reputation for yourself across the world--and not a good one might I add." A shake of her head.
”So... we finally meet....”
A churned expression of what could be conceived as both excitement and anxiety overwhelmed her features in the form of a sly grin. Confidence mixed with the remains of her composure as she brought a hand to her chest, giving a small curtsy in welcome to their first meeting. Though Diantha knew very little about the boy, she knew more than enough to guess why he had come to this Champion Banquet. Certainly, the actress had not expected to see him here of all places; it could be considered a happy surprise.
Her heels clicked as she walked closer, rising to his level with her added height, and extended her hand, keeping the other behind her back in both a measure of confidence and in friendliness.
”Red,” she speaks, her voice ice-cold, ”I've heard S O much about you.”
”What odd-colored hair....”
Her thoughts were made allowed in possibly the worst way possible--unintentionally. Diantha quickly realized her horrid mistake and brought a finger to her lips, letting a gasp escape her before quickly continuing her thoughts.
”Excuse me, that was rude of myself. Allow me to begin again: my name is Diantha. I'm exploring this region under the pretense of business, though really I just needed away from the spotlight of the Kalos region for awhile. Now that I have properly introduced myself, allow me to apologize for my words,as well as ask for your name in reutrn. And you are?”
Even when apologizing, she somehow managed to keep the conversation partially on her. She offered a small bow of her head in retribution for her actions, offering her hand to the strange man as though asking for a handshake--a proper greeting.
Stark bluntness was not her forte; she preferred to sugarcoat the evil in the world with a hint of cinnamon and sugar, of sweet spices that reminded her of a small café in Lumiose City with flour-like table sheets that smelled nearly as good as the food that was prepared there; Fletchlings often waited in anticipation for any disposed food or dropped crumbs, scrambling for the delicacies left behind. Often times, Diantha felt like such a Fletchling--scrounging for any sweetness left in the world, of any event or person or idea--that somewhere, inside the abyss of evil, there was still some good left. And perhaps this is why Lysandre was constantly on her mind, as well as he and Team Flare's warped goal.
Though at this moment, she focused on the concert in front of her--a spectacular display of fireworks and sparkles showering the air. The coordinator and pokemon twirled in unison: a show pure from their unity and understanding. It was as she watched that she was filled with the strangest sense of nostalgia, but for what reason, she could not discern.
She sat next to a young girl with blue hair, who also seemed to be watching intently. Diantha smiled, turning her gaze away from the child and back onto the show in front of her.
”It's absolutely spectacular, isn't it?”
"My my... what a sight we have here..."
Though it seems as though she's pretending to be angry, the smile escaping between the cracks of her fingers betrays her amusement. Cold streaks of disappointment are replaced with the added guilt that she found this to be funny, so amusing that she was forced to stifle her laughter with a delicate hand; the other reaches forward as a gesture of welcome, of greeting. Diantha gazed at the red-headed boy, studying him as she had done years previously; a bearer of great potential, perhaps, though with all the wrong intentions. She shook her head in distaste.
"You know, child, that if you want to get away with stealing, you should be aware of the psychic pokemon around you."
The Gardevoir in question had long since been surrounded by a red mist and returned to her ball as soon as she had alerted her trainer to the mysterious culprit. Without her, Diantha wasn't sure she would have noticed the boy as inconspicuous as he stood. Though she had originally protested, Diantha reassured her that she would handle the situation by only the softness of her eyes and a concerning nod. Henceforth, she turned towards the boy and let the palm of her hand hang in the air, as though requesting--not demanding--for the stolen item in question.
