It’s the least to say how exhausting a day’s worth of marching could be. Hinoka and Sakura, having already retreated to their quarters, had given no hesitation to rest. Ryoma’s just proud at how long they managed to stay on their own two feet. It’s a minor and noble feat and as the eldest, it’s good to see them putting their best effort into all they can do.

Of course he’s not forgetting Takumi, the archer always surprising Ryoma with his marveled strength. But even Takumi can get to the point of exhaustion as well--

4: Forehead Kiss

There are times when it’s a positive encouragement to sit and relax, to take a break and leave prior troubles aside. Ryoma’s well aware of the stress Leon has been going through, with the visitors and… departures to Solitude. The samurai has done his best to make sure his partner does not lose his head over it– as much as Ryoma might wish to as well.

He had pulled Leon away from the library and out onto the balcony, just so they could sit together and watch the waves crash onto the shore below the castle. The sea always brought peace to mind, the steady rhythm bringing about some form of repetition and easiness.

When Leon tried to protest that he ‘wanted to go back inside’ Ryoma simply pulled the mage closer and pressed a gentle kiss to his beloved’s forehead. “ …Let’s sit for just a little while longer… I like having you close and all to myself, if even for a few more moments. ”

2. Sleepy hug

It’s truly inevitable to listen along to Leon’s speeches and readings; especially when the mage always seemed to go off tangent. It’s not bad, Leon just seems excited with every new piece of information he manages to push into that small head of his. But why does it have to be at near midnight–!?

Ryoma has barely been listening, tuckered out from today’s early training regiment. With Spring around the corner, he’d need to get back into shape– even though he hadn’t gained one pound of fat from arriving on Solitude. But every time Leon paused for a moment, Ryoma held his breath and closed his eyes… to only groan inaudibly when Leon went off again.

They both needed sleep, that was certain. A hand reaches over, snapping the book closed and without giving the mage so much as a moment to retaliate, the samurai brings an arm around his beloved and pulls him close against his chest. The lights being turned off with a click, Ryoma rested his forehead against the blond’s.

“ Just… sleep. Read more tomorrow… ”

Kamui approaches Ryoma quickly, a red face. "How long have you been cooking?" He asks, before quickly answering himself. "Because you look HOT"

...There is an uneasy feeling now settling over, among those who are mourning the departure of the Nohrian Prince. It’s to be expected, considering with all the work and connections he has made through his time here on this little hunk of rock. But... it didn’t seem to impact Ryoma as much as the others.

Kamui was onto better and bigger things, to do exactly as they had both discussed over. To finally settle the war between the two neighboring countries. While Ryoma would’ve gladly taken his place, he was still needed here, with someone who needed the support. As long as Kamui was happy and safe wherever he may be, then that was fine. This was fine. This was something he had known would happen from the beginning.

For now, he’ll take his beloved’s concerns into mind and heart, by simply holding the mage in his arms, close and secure. This is all he can do for now.
